Great Book!

I truly enjoyed reading Cognitive Behavioral Therapy few Steps to Freedom from Anxiety, Depression, and Intrusive Thoughts. As odd as this might sound, this book inspired me to focus on creating a more peaceful relationship with myself and my thoughts. The book opens with a quote from Buddha which sums up life for so many of us, “We are what we think.” I thought that Mr. Rajon audio in a style that just put it out there without throwing more words on a min than were necessary. The overwhelming message that I took away was to be dedicated to changing what you will allow in your thoughts, and the negative parts of your being will also change.

Wonderful Guide to CBT

Peter Rajon presents an introduction and guide to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in a way that is both practical and gentle. His relatable, no-nonsense language makes this a fast and simple listen, and those looking to utilize CBT as a tool for better mental wellness will be able to quickly and efficiently implement the 7 steps presented by Wallace to improve their lives. I appreciated the advice on incorporating philosophical and religious belief systems into one's CBT practice, as well as the suggestions for further listening and other healthy activities to improve mood and well-being. I consider this a must-listenfor anyone struggling with mental illness or stressful situations.

I would recommend listening to the audiobook

This audiobook is short enough and straight forward, so I would recommend listening to the audiobook first and then re-listening it and practice the exercises that it describes. One exercise I tried was I attempted to challenge my own core beliefs. I have chronic pain and I have often asked myself why am I suffering from this pain, but I was too afraid to discover the answer.

Excellent and helpful!

I’ve had experience with CBT through a therapist and, to be honest, found it useless. There’s nothing like trying to work through your issues while the therapist subtly looks at her watch constantly. This book allowed me to sit down at my own leisure in a comfortable setting and start to work on CBT. The author audio in a simple and understandable way that makes it easy and interesting listening. He makes it clear that this is not an overnight process and not an easy exercise but it is doable. I liked the fact that the author comes across as likeable and not over my head. He called it achieving a harmony in your mind and that is so true. The workbook is very simple and it is explained throughout the book as to how to do it. There are a lot of helpful quotes from various sources that also provided a lot of insight.

Excellent and helpful audiobook

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a self-help manual about how to use CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to deal with anxiety, depression and some phobias. It’s often done with therapists but this audiobook provides a way to do it at home, for those more comfortable in that setting, as well as being a way to touch upon what you’ve already learned at therapy. The audiobook breaks down exactly what CBT is, how it works and gives the seven main steps needed to do the therapy.

This book is an excellent

This book is an excellent overview of CBT, making it very accessible for the everyday anxiety sufferer. Reading Wallace’s explanations of why anxiety occurs, what kind of anxieties benefit from CBT, and ways to cope with anxiety symptoms like intrusive thoughts helped me understand why my brain works the way it does. I found the mantra section to be particularly helpful, and repeating my mantra when I feel anxiety creeping in has helped me to calm myself much faster. If you’re curious about CBT or want to learn more about anxiety and treatments, pick up this book.
