About this listen
Reignite your passion for work and don’t let prolonged stress and exhaustion dim your future success.
Are you sick and tired of work and not being able to muster up the energy or drive to do any of your tasks?
Do you feel like you’re in a rut and have no idea how to break the cycle of overwhelm and frustration in your professional life?
Has your job become so dull and uninteresting that you do not care about how you’re performing anymore?
It’s completely normal to have bad days at work–any job can be stressful, worrisome, or even draining at times. But when you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom every single day and you’re already at your wit’s end, then you may already be experiencing burnout.
It’s a staggering reality that has spread across several fields of professions. In fact, this condition is so prevalent that even the World Health Organization recognizes it as an occupational phenomenon defining it as a syndrome “resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed”.
Throw in the perfect storm of a seemingly endless pandemic that blurred the lines between work and home, declining global economies, and an obsession with technology and we now have a world filled with workers whose physical, mental, and emotional batteries are on the verge of running out.
The numbers don’t lie. Seventy percent of employees claim they experience burnout in their current jobs according to various surveys. As intense pressure and anxiety continue to dominate the workplace, it won’t be surprising if the numbers increase at a rapid pace.
However, you don’t have to be part of this statistic. You can rekindle your love for work and get your mojo back.
All you have to do is rediscover that spark that can fire you up toward a fulfilling career and a happier, healthier life.
Fortunately, this audiobook tells you everything you need to know to beat burnout and ward it off for good.
Here is just a small fraction of what you will discover:
- How to overcome burnout without having to leave your job
- Why a long vacation is not enough to recover from burnout–find out the magic of “micro-breaks” and “micro-chillers”
- 50+ surefire ways to banish burnout from your system…and prevent it from ever coming back
- Foods that can help you say goodbye to stress…plus those you should avoid at all costs
- The secret antidote to burnout that is so effective even Prince Harry swears by it!
- The three pillars of health and their role in stopping burnout in its tracks
- Why 7 in 10 adults say workplace stress affects their personal relationships–and how not to be like them
- What famous celebrities Sandra Bullock, Queen Latifah, and Beyoncé did to recover from burnout
And much more
Burnout may be a common occurrence in the workplace but it’s still misunderstood by many. Left unresolved, it can lead to more disastrous effects on your health, relationships, and future.
Beating burnout may feel like an insurmountable task, but it is completely possible. By digging deeper into burnout, understanding its symptoms and causes, and arming yourself with the right strategies to fight it you can rise from the ashes and shine brighter than ever before.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Very Helpful! Highly Recommended!
"Conquering Job Burnout" by Karen Davidge is straightforward to comprehend and full of useful strategies. There are moments when life can get away from you. When that happens, relax and give this book your undivided attention. It offers a wealth of knowledge regarding the identification of the causes, followed by suggestions regarding how to enhance your environment. The author provided a sufficient number of actionable measures to assist in coping with stress and organizing one's schedule. In addition, making sure that your mental and physical health are both in good shape. The chapter on Nurture Your Relationship was one of my favorites since it reminded us how important it is to have support when we find ourselves in difficult situations. Overall, I would recommend listening this audiobook to anyone who is contemplating whether or not it is the right time to leave a career, as well as to anyone who genuinely enjoys their work but is concerned about reaching a point of burnout.

A Helpful Guide
I really appreciate the in depth look at such a common issue that is widely dismissed by "hustle culture". It's really helped me to take a step back, look at my goals and understand how I'm going to pursue them without sacrificing too much of myself and without sacrificing the sacred time I have with my family. If you can't take care of yourself all other things will suffer. This book offered me some much needed perspective. Totally recommend it!

This has proven to be a critical resource in overcoming burnout in my current career.
I love what I do, but have found myself overworked, and this audiobook not only showed why this happened, but how to overcome its draining effects. Now finding myself in a more balanced emotional/mental state overall. Also plan to return to this in the future if it happens again.

A great resource for now and for the future
I liked this book so much, I listened 3 times. I didn't think I had job burnout, but it turns out that I am in the beginning stages of it. It was useful to know what I can do and what I can change to slow, stop, or prevent burnout. If you are already feeling job burnout, you need this book NOW! But my point is- if you are simply frustrated in your job, or you have been at your job a long time and just feel tired or bored- you will still gain valuable knowledge from this book. If you are a boss or employer, it's useful for you to recognize burnout in your employees and learn how to prevent it. If you are an entrepreneur (such as myself), you might not even notice your burnout, as it builds gradually parallel to expansion of your business. I am so grateful that I was able to find this book and make some life-changing decisions and I already feel better for it!

Inspirational, Educational & Motivational
Over the past year, I have focused my personal improvement plan around discovering my interpersonal abilities, how to take initiative, and how to balance personal and professional goals. One of the biggest challenges has always been stress. Listening to Karen's novel, Conquering Job Burnout, was really eyeopening, and I had a lot of moments where I realized I was self-sabatoging due to lack of prioritizing, time management and organization. Through really listening to the purpose of the novel, I have been able to reallign my goals, be more strategic, and reach success with less stress. Great read!

Awesome book. This hit home in many ways. Being a first time business owner I never even thought about job burnout as I assumed being self employed I was now set apart, but it made me remember I feel the same as when I was working for someone. Psychologically I am humbled and greatly recommend to everyone even if you feel like you're on your A game. I feel it would be a tool to rethink and overcome future hurdles caused by stress and pressure from any workplace. I give it all 5 🌟

What we all need to hear
A great audiobook highlighting the symptoms of burnout and how you can steer away from it. I particularly liked the part about helping you identify the early symptoms. Most of us are at the beginning stages of burnout without even realizing it. Take the quiz inside and find out for yourself!
