About this listen

In the world of strength and conditioning, learning how to move others not just physically, but also psychologically and emotionally is paramount to getting the most out of them. People are the ultimate performance variable, and understanding how to effectively blend knowledge of proper training with the nuances of human behavior is integral to helping athletes achieve their ultimate goals. Unfortunately, while much attention has been given to the science of physical training, little attention has been given to the science of communication.

Conscious Coaching: The Art and Science of Building Buy-In bridges this gap. Listeners learn the foundational principles of improving relationships, enhancing engagement, and gaining the trust of athletes through targeted communication. And, every bit as important, listeners also learn concrete strategies to apply these principles in day-to-day coaching situations they will inevitably encounter.

The result is a game-changing book that has been used by professional sports teams, Fortune 500 companies, Universities, multinational coaching organizations and the United States Special Forces that sets the stage for coaches and leaders of all kinds to create a culture of success not only within sport, but also beyond. Conscious Coaching is a movement and its time has come.

Amazing coaching FB book. Terrible performance.

This is a fantastic book for coaches looking for ways to get inside the heads of different athletes. Very valuable for coaches who have been in the field a long time and can use certain players as a reference. Wish I would have read it instead of listening. Great read.

The narrator reading the regular parts of the book were well done. However, there are coach contributions for different player types and he uses accents/voice changes to read them. It is unbearable. It’s so awful and distracting I had to just fast forward to the next part where he used his normal voice.

Foe New & Seasoned coaches of all types!

loved the ease & pace of information. need to pick up the actual hard copy now because I find myself referencing my notes. lots of actionable steps for me as a coach. Even though I don't train paid athletes, most info is transferable.

good content, poor narration

the content of the book is great. however, the accents and voices the narrator uses can be extremely distracting. it makes focusing on the content more difficult than it needs to be. would be 100% better if kept with a regular natural voice.

Fantasic For All Professions

Practical and engaging! The information within easily transcends all professions! Great resource that gets right to the point and doesn’t rely on motivational fluff so many seem to have mass produced.

Really cool stories and life lessons

There’s so much about this book that is unique, yet very relatable. I’ve never gone through the same struggles as Brett, but it forced me to reflect on my own struggles in my life to become a coach. It forces you to think!
