Good for personal development

I agree with another reviewer above. fantastic for personal growth and identifying places you may need to grow your management style but nothing about construction. as in there no specifics regarding any of the processes of construction start to finish but how different scenarios within the process can challenge your character and fortitude. very good narrator though. likeable type voice.

Suffered through 30min

I’m unsure of where to begin with this gem. For 30 min it was a generic feel good pump you up positive thinking and importance of character monologue. I gave up once the narrator reveals his cards about his religious faith based truths. Spent my entire life having that ground into me and at this point in my life I don’t need your faith based opinions. Came for real substantial tools for project management. Ended up in some Tony robins feel good life success seminar. Yes your mind and how you perceive yourself and conduct yourself are pretty foundational to success but we’re past that I have some real production and project management deficiencies that don’t some stoic work yourself into the dirt solution.

Frank and Compelling.

I enjoyed my first listen and am about to listen again. As written in the review title, this book, read by the author, is both frank and compelling. Having many years of business myself in project management, I found it frank, in that he writes from and Shaws his experiences; and compelling as it compels me on my path. Thank you.

Reaching to call this "construction management"

Joe Egan is a respectable individual with knowledge of construction. I went into the book looking for a little bit of insight into better handling my responsibilities as a Superintendent, but was disappointed that majority of his advice was very generic towards management in general. A lot of the tips he gives are pretty much common sense and things you already know that you should be doing, but there are a few other examples and tips that were insightful.

Overall this isn't a "must read" if you are considering getting into construction management. If you are already in the field and experienced, then this book won't offer anything really new except for a few tips on critical thinking and how you should respond to certain events. Not bad, but not good. Just decent

It was ok

Was ok, was more about mind set than anything else. Not sure it’s a project management book haha. More like a customer service book

Not a book on Project Management

I was looking for a book on construction project management and unfortunately, this book was not it. If you are looking for leadership principles and how to interact with different parties on a project then you will enjoy this book. For me, the title of the book and the summary were misleading. There were no practical methods or tools for managing a construction project.
