About this listen

A journey that was a lifetime in the making....

Milton Frederick never had the chance to live out his life as a professional gamer on Earth, mainly because he was abducted by aliens. Unfortunately, he wasn’t returned home after the typical probing associated with such things to tell an unbelievable story to his friends. Instead, he was summarily killed and his consciousness was inserted into a Station Core, a giant, metal, egg-shaped object that could use technology to create traps, Combat Units, and other defenses to protect not just himself, but those he cared about.

Despite killing him and sticking his mind in what was essentially a giant computer, the aliens that went by the name “The Collective” weren’t actually a bad group of people. Ultimately, what they had done to Milton had been to save themselves from the incessant attacks of a different group of aliens called Heliothropes. Sadly, he never made it to where he was supposed to end up. Rather, his Station Core ended up crash-landing on a foreign planet named Proctus, as far from The Collective as it was possible to get.

However, through many difficult scenarios and by adapting to his new form, Milton was eventually able to leave Proctus with some new friends and new ships he had built with the help of his versatile drones. Now bound for Collective space to fulfill a promise to his personal AI guide, ALANNA, Milton and his crew use their trans-dimensional drive to journey there through a strange dimension that cuts down on their travel time.

What they find waiting for them when they emerge is not what any of them were expecting.

Dimensional Dungeon Cores is a continuation of the Station Cores series, though it can be enjoyed without having listened to the previous books. This story contains LitRPG and GameLit mechanics, Dungeon Core elements (including dungeon construction and defense), and optional stat tables in the form of footnotes. Contains no foul language and no harems or sexual content.

This series continues to keep you entertained and engaged the whole way. If you like to read instead of listening this series is great for both.

A must have if you like Dungeon World Series!

I wasn't worried. You were worried.
I knew Brooks wouldn't ruin one of my favorite Sci-Fi LitRPG series.
For those of you that don't know, this series is an add-on series to the amazing System Cores series.
Now you don't HAVE to listen to that series before you read this one, but I highly recommend it. Seeing how the entire 5 book series is all in one complete omnibus now, it's only one credit for all 5.
So Milton, the station core / used-to-be human, has now escaped his millenias long accidental exile with his AI helper and a bunch of the locals and has now made it back to his home dimension.
But all is not well in his home dimension and they need to keep away from the bad guys until they get stronger. And figure out what's going on.
This deserves 6 or 7 out of 5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazingly written and wonderfully narrated Jonathan makes moves in this installment that has the possibility to bring everything he has done together! I love the pacing and flow. The character development is engaging, and I found myself riveted. I also like the optional stats! Simple skip. TY for the organization, so I can have the stats when i want and skip when I do not.

I started out with the Dungeon World box set. It was FANTASTIC. When I got to the bonus story and found out there was possibly a multiverse of this world, I went rabid trying to find what book/series it was connected to. All I had to go off of was Milton. After multiple hours of searching, I stumbled on the Station Core series. I also fell in love with the story and world building there. Now I am here, and I haven't been so hyped for a series in a long, long time. Without having read the series connected in this first book yet, I love the reasoning and execution of the multiversal travels and the connection Milton has with individuals from the other dimensions. As someone who is a big stickler for those aspects, this author has it down pat and then some. I HIGHLY recommend all 3 series and probably even the rest of this expansive universe.
