About this listen

Assistant DA Erin Jerome has a secret. Make that two. One: She's not entirely human - she's Other, desperately trying to keep her supernatural strength under wraps. Two: she's got a killer stalking her - an Other rogue set on "gifting" her bloody corpses.

But the bounty hunter on her new case isn't worried about any of that. Jude Donovan is a shapeshifter himself, and the new DA's midnight hair and addictive scent tell him all he thinks he needs to know: She's gorgeous, she's definitely not human, and she's bringing out the animal in him in a really good way. He might have to track a psychotic Other stalker through half of Louisiana. But he might also get the chance to see Erin's wild side come out and play.

First book I ever read that was about shifters & now I'm hooked!

I purchased this book in paperback a few years ago on sale while visiting family. Hated to put it down to talk to family or stop to drive but loved it. I purchase a lot of my books on audible that I've already read due to having to do my job so I know I won't miss anything this way. I've listened to several books now by Tanya Eby and always enjoy them. She can put me in the story and does a great job with the different voices. Good book to read or listen to..

Splendid narration!

Read this book a long time ago and decided to give it a listen. The narrator made it seem so much better than the book. It made me feel as if I was there with the main characters.

I need half stars!

I almost gave up on this one. Originally, I kept going because I wanted to know who the bad guy was. After awhile, I got into the story. Maybe it's just this book that I didn't care for; I've read other Cynthia Eden books and liked them. Tanya Eby did a nice job with the narration.

great performance, easy simple story

I tried to stay tuned into this book, I liked the characters and base line of the story but....the story was very basic. I could easily tune out for a few minutes and jump back in and not miss anything valuable. yes there are sex scenes, but it's not allllll sex like some members suggested. just 4 scenes, one or two a little lengthy. the story was a basic formula with murders, questions, the killers PIC, but wasn't interesting enough to stay connected to the story. if you want a simple read with sex romance, blood, fighting and a "who dun it?" feel, this is perfect! But if you're looking for deep connections with chara hters and immersed into the world Cynthia created... this is t for you. Narrator did amazing! as always! wide rage of voices!

Book was recommended by audible

I tried it and it's been a alright read. I've had better reads but was in need of a distraction. Book is alright but not sure if I will listen to the rest of series.

Repetitive sex

The book was extremely repetitive. There was more sex than story. If the sex was cut out it was a thin plot that could have been better as Eden can write. Eby the narrator was fabulous. But the repetitiveness killed the book. Not going to continue the series despite the stellar narrator.

Good book

I will say first off that over all I really enjoyed this book. My only complaint was how slowly the story started out. It felt like it took forever really get into the book. The Narration was Great! I enjoyed listening to Tanya Eby and felt she really brought the characters alive.

Terrific hot shifter story

This is my first Eden book, but not my last. It has great characters, unique shifters, hot sex, and lots of mysterious adventures. Great narration by Ms Eby too. Looking forward to the next in the series.

IT'S ACTION PACKED.... IN AND OUT OF THE BED

Night Watch is an Agency that takes down out of control supernatural criminals and the Team is made up of a variety of human, not quite human and very unhuman characters. There was a chilling, tension filled plot, that was action packed with suspense, secrets, a mysterious mad stalker/murderer, thrills, various supernaturals called Others.... Were-Shifters, Demons, Vamps etc., and it was well narrated.

The Alpha Hero Jude who's a Bounty Hunter/White Tiger Shifter is all Alpha (I never thought I'd say it but maybe too much) all the time, never letting up, never changing just bossy, demanding and arrogant which goes with his rare Were Tiger side. Erin, the Heroine and ADA, hadn't come out of the closet as a Shifter because she was flawed but the animal instant lust between them led very quickly to hot animal sex by Chapter 6. So there was passion but not a lot of romance as Jude became her personal Bodyguard as well as a Hunter Hell bent on catching/killing her evil stalker before it was too late.

Worth a credit? Exciting and enjoyable with lust and sex but no tender romancing which I missed however it was a Shifter book that had a tense, nail-biting storyline so YES creditworthy.

No more Night Watch..

Any additional comments?

This was a good story but it was waaay to long. I don't read books without sex but Ms. Eden seemed to think it was necessary to fill page after page with sex. That's really not a good filler. So, I can't see myself reading any more of the Night Watch series. I read Scream for Me, Fear for Me and Die for Me and I loved those books by this author but this one, not so much.
I did like Jude and Erin. And the secondary characters were a great addition: Zane, Dee, Tony. Lee and Ben. I really had no idea who the bad guy was so I was completely shocked to find out.
There was some good sex in the book, at least, the first two encounters, and sexual tension but I just think there was a little too much. You could take 100 pages from this book and it would have been better.

As to the narrator: Ms. Eby did a fantastic job on the voices but her emotions are way off. Oh, she whispered when the book called for it but when someone was YELLING at someone else to "RUN!" she whispered the word "RUN." Fortunately, there wasn't too much YELLING going on so I didn't have to roll my eyes that much when she whispered.
