About this listen

When a mission ends in disaster—there is no way to achieve the objective, no way to regroup and try again, no plan B, no hope—all you can do is fall back into FAILURE MODE and try to salvage whatever you can.

...if it is even possible to save anything, or anyone.

The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight.

Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

Great series , ended in a decent manner . No mind blowing events or significant cliff hangers.
Wish CA would have done an epilogue of some sort . But, it does check the box.
If you have been with the series for this long might as well finish it out. But it feels like the series coasted to a stop.

Provides closure but….

Love how the elders were handled and how the author handled the unlikely success of bishop. Love this series and hope to continue seeing the quality storytelling by Craig Alanson and RC Bray.

Great Story!

This series is amazing, and I felt a little bit sad starting this book, knowing that this is the last book.

Thank you!

I’ve loved this series from beginning to end; hard to believe that this is the last book. A lot of things are tied up nicely, but there are still threads that could continue if Craig ever decided to write another.

Last book in the series?

I suppose it's time to start work on some movies so Skippy can get a star on Hollywood Bldv.

Loved this series and this book was good as well. The ending felt a little rushed, like he had 3/4 of the book to have the main characters banter and realized he needed to wrap it up with a 1/4 left.

An ending that wasn’t what it could have been
