About this listen

The four rules of freelance villainy are as follows:

1. Always wear a mask

2. Never hurt civilians

3. Never kill the heroes you’re paid to fight.

4. And the bad guy always loses.

And the rules worked, until I had to take down the Heroes of Earth to get Psyren back. Now, I'm not only infamous, but have a mob of villains looking to join my 'evil' organization and take over the world. And that's the good news! The bad news is the second biggest villain on the planet wants to hire me to work a fight against his hero daughter.

Which would be fine. It's the job. Except the plot grabbed the attention of a demon having an identity crisis, who's possessing heroes and villains to try and kill me and my harem of villainesses.

Well, no one said my job was going to be easy. And I'm learning real fast how painfully true that can be.

Villain for Hire is a humorous adventure through the world of heroes, superpowers, freelancing, and villainy. Featuring nefarious plots, cats outta hell, puns, Russian nuclear elephant trainers, and horny yandere villainesses, this men's adventure is sure to delight.

A great third!

Love the intelligence, grit, and down to earth understanding on where he stands and what he feels his place in society… and the absolute conviction that of you f@*^ with him and his… he will destroy your world. Love that!!

Villany for hire

Villany for hire is an amazing concept.
very enjoyable and the intro of a succubus like character is very welcome,
Some spice to mellow out the story

Solid addition

Magnaron is still incredibly fun to listen too with his acerbic wit and interesting life. The ladies do love him and hilariously that is extending into the heroine territory too!

This extended out more of him branching out and having to confront another impressive evil leader in the world. And it looks like he has about had enough with being jerked around from people in lofty positions.

As always, writing is solid, the supporting cast are awesome, and I can’t wait for the next one.

👏👏👏👏👏I hope there are more books to come in this series! The MC is great along with a really good supporting cast! The story is captivating! The narrators also do a good job of bringing the story to life! Great job Jay Aury!

Great Series

This has easily become one of my favorite book series. My only issue is that the intimate scenes are too vanilla with not much verity. Needs more description, Dom & Sub, FFM and foreplay.

Great Fun, But my least favorite

I enjoyed the new characters, but the constant complaining from the MC about everything is getting to me. I understand the point is to trivialize or show that the character is competent at whatever is sent his way, but nearly every encounter outside of doing his job. The MC has some sort of snarky responses, says f#^king hell, and then deals with the problem. Rinse, repeat.

What I do love about the MC is when he talks passionately about being the golden age comic book villain and feeding that fantasy to the general public. The new character he coaches leads to great banter. However it does make make Glacia a bit redundant since she was meant to be the upcoming villainess in the business of heroes and villains.

I hoped from Book 3 the CIA woman would be a major player in the heroes and villains business. So we can get an idea of what international heroes and villains are like in the setting.

I do appreciate the evolution of the guy doing his job and others imposing what they think he should be. I do like how the MC behaves as the reluctant hero.

Not the end of the series

I thought this book might cap off the end of the series, perhaps leading to some massive climax to resolve everything. I thought perhaps there would be one book for each girl in the harem, with an adventure that focuses on getting them away from an overbearing man (father, former employer, etc) which ends up making them more devoted to the protagonist. Neither of these is ocrrect.

This is just another installment in the series. Hopeully that means there are more books coming.

As always, the book is entertaining. I appreciate that although the protagonist is quite powerful, he isn't overpowered. He still struggles and barely succeeds at times, and there are threats far greater than him in the world.

The job interviews bit is amusing.

I also appreciate that this is one of the few series with some light femsub BDSM content, which I could find more of that.

There's some solid character voice work in here. But... after working together for three books in the same series, the voice actors are inconsistent on pronunciation. The male voice actor pronounces "Glacia" incorrectly. The female voice actor pronounces "Mammon" incorrectly. Those are main characters. Three books in! (Four for the female voice actor.) Apparently they've never listened to the book, and the author and editor never corrected them on it. Come on, guys, this is really basic stuff.

That being said, I still enjoy the series and look forward to more.

For the series this was one of the better books, I really laughed and had a fun time listening to the good natured evil guy navigating his way through the world
