I will admit that I was wondering how the series was going to end. However, the series stuck the landing and had a fitting conclusion for Samson Apian.

Despite the title of the book implying the return of a major antagonist. In reality they act more as a natural disaster in the background than an actual antagonist. So the books plot is more focused on other plots and don’t retread the events of books 2 and 3.

Overall I thought the series got better as it went on. It was even good enough to convince one of my coworkers to get the audiobooks for the series as well.

TLDR: Read the entire series, it’s great!

Excellent Conclusion to a Great Series

The story was great up to the last chapter. That part was really bad, at least, that is my opinion of it.
the question of what will happen to Samson and Delilah after the end of the seventh volume of the story was brought up again and again, and with the constant insistence on Samson being dead, him just being alive and waking out of coma feels cheep. He made a life for himself with his friends from the other world and the story just deprived him of the ending. This volume in particular was filled with the sentiment that even if it was created as a figment of Delilah's imagination, the world of the book was very much real and filled with real people. Samson had feelings for these people and their world. It feels like a missed opportunity, a cheep rugpull or just something that came up in the last second.

TL:DR: The story of the entire series is great until you get to the last chapter.

The ending didn't stick the landing.

that ending was fantastic. I was not expecting it in the slightest and it fit so well.
