About this listen

The best-selling author of WomanCode presents a biohacking program for women, teaching them how to use their natural 28-day cycle to optimize their time, diet, fitness, work, and relationships.

Women have a important biological rhythm they experience every month that affects productivity, weight, sex drive, energy, and mood. It is essential to be aware of and take care of this rhythm, but it has been widely ignored by medical, nutrition, and fitness research. So as women, we diet, we deprive, and we cram as much as possible into our day, striving to accomplish impossible to-do lists, and scheduling our lives based on a 24-hour time cycle, ignoring the intuitive time our bodies naturally keep: a monthly cycle with four hormonal phases that offer incredible advantages.

In the FLO presents a revolutionary four-week solution to manage your energy and time according to your female biochemistry. By working with each phase, you'll support your hormones, unlock peak creativity and performance, and avoid burnout. You'll know exactly when to eat certain foods, clear your social calendar, or ask for a raise - and you'll have the tools to do so, including:

  • Meal plans and recipes for each phase
  • Charts for phase-specific exercises, work tasks, and relationship activities
  • A daily planner that helps you align with your strengths in each phase
  • A biohacking toolkit for navigating period problems and hormonal birth control

Alisa Vitti, functional nutrition and women's hormone expert, best-selling author of WomanCode, and founder of modern hormone healthcare company FLOliving.com, has been teaching women how to reclaim their rhythm for nearly 20 years and has witnessed the incredible rewards it offers - including losing stubborn weight, regaining energy, clearing skin, and minimizing PMS. By getting In the FLO, you'll get more done with less effort, you'll feel better consistently throughout the month, and you'll enjoy the freedom that comes with living on your own time.

Amazing! (Liberal cowtowing notwithstanding)

This book has been mind-blowing. I keep talking about it to everyone I know! My one complaint is her addressing transgender issues in a way that contradicts everything else she says. A book about biology should simply acknowledge biological realities, albeit with empathy toward those who feel at odds with their birth sex. But that is a minor complaint in what I think is an otherwise excellent book. Easily one of the top ten health books I have ever read.

Mind Blowing

I love this book. I am actually so excited to have a daughter now, so I can share with her how truly incredible and powerful the female body is. I am currently in my 1st month of cycle syncing. I feel like I've awakened to a whole new way of life. Thank you Alisa!

Do yourself a favor and educate yourself about you

This book's content, if taken to heart might change your life and could quite possibly change the world. Women need to understand themselves better, gain self awareness, and learn self love and self compassion, and I had no idea how much my cycle was intricately woven within that.

The Women’s class that I wish I got soon…

Pro everyone should know and understand their body and nature. Women specifically are biologically different from men and that’s not only okay but by design. No one should be responsible for doing or being it all. In the Flo, is a Holistic approach to healing your femininity, getting in sync with your second clock, and bio hacking stress/work in every season and stage of life. All suggests and plan’s delivered are reasonable, effective, and manageable.
Explains what “having it all” actually looks like and the Feminine Genius we are not taught anymore. She is pro Masculine Genius too, and accepting there is genius all around us. Being aware of what you and others have to offer can have a major impact on your relationships. This book is for everyone regardless of orientation or identification.
Being simply aware. Aware that a medication impact our lives beyond what is mention in your typical doctor visit. Aware that you “mixing things up” is just part of the phase your on. Aware that your intuition, nagging feeling - is v alid and may need further investigation.
Am I anti hormonal birth control- yes. This book affirms ALL of what has happened to me in the topic of birth control, illness and lifelong side effects.
Suggestions;

In the Flo, women’s education with a greater emphasis on health, fitness, and emotional intelligence - skipping how’s and what to do for sex.

A cliff notes men version for all of this information. Understanding how women operate without knowing everything might be a better approach. Dads could have fruitful conversations with daughters without reading the details on sex or topics that out age range.

Not boring- informative and worth taking the time.

A practical guide to heal your hormones

An excellent read/listen and useful supplemental pdf. This is a guidebook for women in their reproductive years to overall health. An eye opener on the background of studies that form most women's beliefs about our health. Definitely worth a read and I've recommended to several women in my life. I wish I had found this information 20 years ago!

As a Male who is aware and tuned in to energy understanding of hormones this is huge!!!

So I recently had done a lot of work on understanding the way hormones and other things that factor in creating the hormonal-cocktails we sometimes hav no clue about the meaning behind them as a true Neanderthal. Also knowing the extreme biology changes that occurs when our unique counterparts that are the basis for our evolution and life. The system physically mentally and biological changes when becoming pregnant. I discovered this audible when searching for answers to help my fiancé with her energetic levels and or trying to care but not having to keep insisting she get blood tests and nutrition supplements or injections… What I discovered in your book is something I plan on keeping my knowledge fresh as if it were something that I had myself, also I plan on adding and affiliating to my NON-Profit LLC based on wellness through awareness of symptoms and how to manage them to improve life or manage them away completely without diet, mental physical an electromagnetic levels of your homeostasis within the difficult aspects of body which make or creates our mental physical and foundations for relationships, and successes or continuing failures… Communication and energy exchanges are huge in the story of understanding and growing into the person I am and hopes to spreading awareness with the disciplining research discoveries you have already made. Thank you for the information and understanding ✨💎

Get the text version instead!

This book is amazing and I highly recommend it for all women! However I feel like the text version would be more practical than the audio book because it includes charts and lists that would be more helpful in a visual format that you can use to reference back. If you do get the audio version I would suggest slowing it down just a tad. I set mine on 0.90 speed. It's read a little bit fast for the amount of information being given, I felt like the slightly slower speed gave me an opportunity to really absorb it all.

Brings you home to yourself

Inspiring on so many different levels, a must-read for women who struggle to prove themselves and are trapped dealing with perfectionism, the modern society and its productivity cult.
The practical advice is essentially the same as in the author's other book, Woman Code, but the narrative is centered towards inspiring women to embark on a journey towards self-awareness and intuitive change. If you are not familiar with the author's other writings, this is a good introduction to her approach.

If you have a certain knowledge and interest in diets and health in general, you are likely to find health advice that goes against what you are convinced of. Regardless of that, you could still benefit from the advice. The point of this book is not to make you perfectly mimic the diet and exercise plans presented therein. Rather, the point is to make you aware of certain facts and patterns to make you redesign your lifestyle, and to encourage you to force less on your body and become more receptive to its moods. So if you take no practical advice from the book (though they are plenty and you will surely find something you can apply), you will at least find inspiration and precious lessons on how to reduce friction with your own body.
