Every active woman should read this book.

Essential knowledge about sports nutrition and hydration for women's physiology. I've been cycling long distance for a while now, and had no idea about the proper nutrition needed to improve my performance. One thing I wanted to mention, however, is that the author does not recommend counting calories, but every athlete out there knows that it is difficult to talk about macronutrients without talking about caloric intake. There is a difference between being obsessed with calories and weight loss, and using it to gauge proper ratios of macros. Still, a great book that I will be using as my nutrition guide from now on!

So much great and actionable information.

I am training to ride endurance with my horse, we focus a lot on equine nutrition but seem to ignore human. so I wanted to change that. I don't want to be the weak link in my partnership. Learned so much of what to do and not do. I have already recommended the book to other riders. We have rides in the heat, cold, altitude, we ride for up to 15 hours. learning how to fuel and feed my body before, during and after is invaluable.

Excellent content! Narrator was poor!

Well the book was amazing and I love the content I couldn’t stand the narrator. In fact I thought it was a computer through most of the book. Intonations and inflections and emphasis we’re all wrong throughout the book and it was very strange to listen to. That said it was still an excellent book

It's worth taking notes on nutrition, refueling, resting and biomarkers for testing

As an endurance athlete, I loved all the insights on proper nutrition that works for women's bodies, dos and don'ts for refueling. I'm not against fasting. When there are times my stomach can't take food when the blood is flowing to other parts of the body during a race, I unintentionally end up doing a mini fast. That has worked on for me so far but this might be dangerous for others. Everybody is different.

annoying slogan, excelent content

this was a super interesting read. science based approach with interesting examples. definately not a how to book or a "get healthy in 3 easy steps" sort of book. but have a lot of insight on how to be healthy and recover. and what proven science is showing.

Great information and easy to absorb

I’ve been a personal trainer and currently work in the medical field so to have this book explain things specifically for women is amazing. I’m sharing it with family, friends and colleagues to help all of us ladies train like we are suppose to without the mind screw of comparison to men’s studies. Thank you a million!

Strong Work

The book was engaging, motivating and informative about broader concepts and practical applications for female athletes. The voice reading this book was off-putting for me, otherwise I really enjoyed it.
