About this listen

For years, the ancient alien AI known as Skippy (the Magnificent, don’t forget that part) has been able to do one impossible thing after another. What is his secret? It’s simple: 100 percent Grade-A extreme awesomeness. And also because he had never been faced with an opponent of equal power. Until now.

This time, he might need a little help from a band of filthy monkeys.

Can anything really match Skippy?

In spite of some of the popular reviews, this is actually another great book in the series. The plot reveals multiple surprises and unexpected turns. Whereas it appears that the Merry Band of Pirates are again reacting to events and unforeseen consequences to their past actions, and that the story tangents just to setup and execute jokes; indeed Bishop, Skippy, and few others do proactively plan ahead to better position humans in an ever increasingly dangerous galaxy.

In summary, not all is at it seems from where the last book left off. The merry band of pirates need to work to ensure that the power and protection of Roscoe is accepted by the Rindhalu and Maxolhx. They also need the Maxolhx to be otherwise distracted so that they can search for, and thwart, the nefarious Elder AI that they expect is out there undermining their efforts. They hope that reading the Mavericks into their plans can provide additional support for this next impossible mission. This time the Rindhalu are impeding the path to success. The enemy Elder AI calls for help. Most importantly, Skippy has developed and is selling Bishop, and Merry Band of Pirates, inaction/action-figures for profit, and to help the public better understand the true nature of their heros at large!

Awesome as usual

Such a well done series, from the characters to the story line. All the unintended consequences of skippy helping Joe steal the flying Dutchman. I really hope this isn't the last that we here of the Merry band of pirates. Next I'd like to say what an Amazing job RC Bray has done. I really don't think anyone else could have done a better job. I have run across other books in the Audible lineup that are narrated by Bray. I listen to them just because Bray is the Narrator. Craig and RC are a dynamic duo. Thank you both for your work. I am a hooked fan of both of you. Keep'em coming!!

Mind blowing

Honestly was not expecting that twister. But as always a really enjoyable book R.C Bray brings the story to you. This cliff hanger is a real nail biter

I am addicted to Expeditionary Force

I am so happy when a new one comes out and so depressed when it is read because I have to wait months again for the next fix of all the characters. it is the most entertaining book series ever!
I might go back and listen to the beginning book again. I love the characters so much and R.C. Bray is perfect for this series.
Now that book 14 is listened to, I have to wait again. I hope the next one is soon and twice as long since it seems to be the last one in the series. I am sad it can't go on and on. Yes sometimes it gets drawn out but it always springs back into action.

Out-bloody-standing!!!

As with the previous books in the series, I was engrossed from the beginning. I will likely listen to it again like I do normally to make sure I didn't miss anything. RC Bray killed it as always! Can't wait for the next one!

Amazing book

I absolutely loved this book, maybe it's my favorite out of the entire series.
But a suggestion to other readers, if you wish to not want Craig Alanson dead for one of his signature cliffhangers, wait till the next book is out.

Only problem: it’s not longer

Love this story. I know it’s book 15 and you already bought it, but that was a good choice on your part.

Did these reviewers review the wrong book?

I literally cannot fathom why there are so many people saying this was bad. This was one of the best in the series, lots of plot advancement, action and excitement. Plenty of new directions and story lines. If you like this series then you'll love this one. The reviewers giving this 1 or 2 stars must have listened to a different book. They say nothing happened? More happens in this book than any other. It's baffling. Just have a listen and you'll get it.
