Not a completed series

I purchased the Mephisto's Magic Online series since it was listed as completed on your Web site. After listening to book 3 I have a hard time believing that there will not be another book. So either you ended a series poorly, lied to your readers, or you are planning to use the same characters and story line in more books and call it another series. If it is the later, I am disappointed with you and while refrain from listening to any more of your authors.

Mephisto's Magic is a Devilishly Good Time

I had my doubts starting this series. The dialogue was a bit stilted and the voice actors sounded wooden...at first. Multiple voice actors in an audiobook isn't my favorite way to listen, but by the second book of the series I had to readjust my thinking. The author and the actors continued to improve to the point that I absolutely loved it.

Really enjoyable

OK so starting off this book has the whole trope of a friend going off to do their own thing in an attempt to achieve the same goal. I absolutely despise that trope. I personally think it fragments a story and just makes an unlikable character. I don't even like Mona now. She's become completely unrecognizable as a character. What happened to everyone consulting the team before making decisions? And there goes Mona making a deal with an EXTREMELY shady and power hungry princess without consulting anyone. She continued to make poor choices. Initially she had an emotional and forthright character. She kept the emotional part but also kept her emotions and thoughts to herself. Now she does whatever she wants. In what world do you get superpowers from a full dive vr game and NOT hypothesize that the game might be real? Mona was consistently fed facts but stubbornly stuck to the idea that everything was just a game. I mean she can use a skill from the game in the real world but there's no way there's a connection right? Ignoring all of this, I did enjoy the story quite a bit.

Took a risk on this one, glad I did

This is a rare LitRPG that does everything right.
1. The characters aren't overpowered.
2. The people behind the characters are interesting.
3. The actions that happen in the world matter.
4. When a character gets powers or items, they're important.
5. The battles are interesting.
6. Nothing cringeworthy happens.
7. The NPC characters are interesting.
8. The narrators (a full cast) are all great!
I wouldn't say that this is a spectacular LitRPG, but everything is done correctly so that I can enjoy it. I have a few hundred litRPG audibooks in my library, and a quite a few of them have been poor recently (usually for OP, things not mattering, or cringe), so it's a delight to get back to a big long one that is thoroughly enjoyable.

Highly recommended.

Progress

It started well, but I quickly lost interest in book 2 as it morphed into some type of weird vampire thing. Should have mentioned that in the overview. Not my cup of tea, but if you’re into vampires this one will do you well

Great overall story

The only downside I noticed while listening to this omnibus is that the initial chapters of both books 2 and 3 are recap chapters for those listening to the entire thing at once.

Good narration but forgettable story and unlikeable characters

I wanted to turn this off forever so many times. I liked the characters at first but the stronger they got the more I hated them. Is it so bad to have your hero actually live by a moral code? Will it be getting book 4 if and when it ever comes out.

Very well done

Best narration I’ve heard of over 50 titles.
Great story and character progression.
Things can move a bit fast tho so pay attention.
I only wish there was more than 3 books .. :(

3 books, kind of all over the place

This is a tough one for me because I feel like it starts off pretty good then starts stretching in too many directions too fast. 1st book was ok without much of a conclusion(3 stars). 2nd book is a bit better and the ending felt more like an ending, but it just came so suddenly and fast. If it were just a twist at the end then it would be fine. However, it was a twist with the second MC having what felt like a mood swing (4 stars). 3rd book was even odder in that it is bisected by a significant event that changes the game. This book felt a little off at first but it fit the mood from the twist from the first book. Then it builds up some compelling new story, which was nice. Then a game changing twist that changes the story almost completely, which wouldn't be so bad if now all that world building felt dropped unexpectedly and at the change of a chapter (3 stars).

The narration performances were top notch. would definitely listen to again. I would say the performance kind of carried the books.

technically 2 MC'S and they're both GOD AWFUL.

the first book they're alright the second book they're annoying and the third book I was forcing myself to finish cause the MC was half a step away from being the villain. the story is great but you have to know the main protagonist are annoying as hell and make it hard to finish the tale.
