A Sleeper at First

At first I had my doubts about this one. But I let it go and buckled into listening. Glad I did. I think though I would have enjoyed it more had I picked up the book and read it myself.

Intrigued until the very end

I liked this one a lot. The only drawback I found was that, as with all audiobooks, I didn’t always register some details. So with this one, I never understood the chapter titles. I don’t think it kept me from following and I still really enjoyed it

Really good just one small irritation

I really enjoyed the story and the characters. the narration was really well done. the part that drove me crazy was the bizarre jumping back and forth by minutes and seconds when in fact we were jumping back and forth by weeks or days. I just found it irritating and distracting and learn to ignore it.

A refreshing break from formulaic plots

An enthralling thrill ride fueled by devious originality, hairpin plot turns and a host of shady characters.

Irish Fatal Attraction/Poor literary device

Narrator has a tendency to read from loud to very soft in a sentence, even to the point of monotony. Heroines are not that likeable. A variety of bad guys. Minimal foul language. The author employs a literary device akin to flashbacks, but it makes no sense. Rewind 17 seconds? From what point? On which timeline? Maybe it makes sense on the page (doubt it) but absolutely doesn't work on audio.

Difficult to Listen To!

At times the narrator would read very loudly then whisper something at an important moment. Very hard to understand! I kept having to adjust the volume up snd down. Frustrating!

Enjoyable but…

I never really caught on to the rewind/fast forward thing. I like the idea of it but it wasn’t obvious enough for me. I understood flash back vs flash forward but I didn’t get the times. I just knew that it was a change in setting and characters. I’d like to know exactly what the times meant. Now that I know the end, I might be able to figure them out on second read/listen.
