About this listen

Sadie Townsend is known by all as The Ice Princess and she’s worked hard to earn her reputation. Her father, a now-incarcerated Drug Lord, has kept her under his thumb her whole life, and she’s learned enough from living in his world to give everyone the cold shoulder. But one inebriated night, she shows Hector the Real Sadie, and he knows he’ll stop at nothing to have her. Hector Chavez makes one (huge) mistake: he waits for Sadie to come to him. Tragedy strikes, and Sadie’s got a choice. She can retreat behind her Ice Fortress, or she can embrace the Rock Chick/Hot Bunch World. Guided by Hector, the Rock Chicks, the Hot Bunch and her new gay roommates, Buddy and Ralphie, Sadie negotiates a life out from under her father’s thumb. A life that includes poison, arson and learning how to make s’mores.

Great narration

Hector Chavez and Sadie -- what can I say? True Kristen Ashley drama and HEA. Susannah Jones does a great job bringing the story to life.

The evolution of Sadie

Hector met Sadie when working undercover for the DEA. His case involved Sadie's father, a Drug Dealer and bad guy supreme. Hector had his eye on Sadie during his undercover operation but had kept it to himself until it was over.

Hector waited a year for Sadie to come to him but after she was brutally raped, Hector vows to keep her safe and make her his.

This is a heartwarming story of two people falling in love under some tough circumstances and coming through it together in the end.

Again, Kristen dazzled me with this story of two good, deserving people that fall in love and find their way to happiness.

Susannah, as always, you do a kick ass job on narrating!

*6* Hector "Oh my God" Chavez stars.

Rock Chick Regret is book 7 in the Rock Chick series. This is Hector's and Sadie's book.

Before I started reading, I wasn't sure if I was going to be really into this book. I didn't really have a connection with Hector from the prior books. A few references here and there and a couple of scenes just didn't have me all excited to get his story. But then I started reading and listening and was immediately enthralled. I didn't want to put this book down. I ended up loving Hector, just as I do all of the Nightingale PI men.

This book, Rock Chick Regret, is tied with Rock Chick Revenge, book 5 of the series, for my favorite Rock Chick book. I gave them both 6 stars and I can't decide which I like more.

This book, as with all of the RC books, gives us a good dose of all of the side characters as well. I love that we still get to see all of our favorite characters. We also got to meet two new characters, Sadie's friends, Ralphie and Buddy.

I will definitely be reading and listening to this book again.

Audible: The narrator was clear and easy to understand. She did a good job and I enjoyed listening to this book.

Really?

Like the stories from this series. However, using the same narrator tends to make all the guys sound like the same guy. Same with the female characters. With that said, totally hate the attempt at the Spanish language. Horrible enough to sound like another language, not Spanish. The emphasis on Hector's English is contrived and insincere.

My favourite story of the series

I love this book! I've read Rock Chick Regret SO MANY times now, I never get tired of Sadie and Hector. I love all the other books in the series as well, but I love Sadie and Hector just a little bit more.

This is the first time I've listened to the audio copy though - I do really enjoy listening to this narrator tell the story, but I wasn't a huge fan of some of the male characters voices. An enjoyable listen overall though.

Great story, not so great narrator

5 Hector and Sadie stars!!!! Loved it, loved it, looooooved it. Im beyond words. She is so strong, he is so patient. Im beyond words!!!!!

On the narrator: I've loved her throughout the series, but in this one, I have some complains:
1. Ralphie's gay, not a girl, so why does she make him sound like one?
2. If you know you're going to read some lines in a different language (in this case, Spanish) find a native-speaker and practice the proper pronunciation! As a Latina, it annoyed the shit outta me every time she ruined Hector lines with incorrect pronunciation.
3. This is the only one of all the Rock Chick books I've heard in which her male voices are weak.
