About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Dr. David J. Lieberman introduces a wonderful right-to-the-point mini audiobook that tells listeners how to put an end to boundary issues - once and for all!

A work colleague with whom you have only a casual relationship asks you to co-sign a loan for him...your neighbor asks you to keep her antisocial, flea-riddled cat for the weekend—again. We've all faced sticky situations like these—unreasonable demands on our time and inappropriate requests from family, friends, co-workers, or casual acquaintances. We want to say "No". We have the right to say "No"—always. And yet we don't. Some people will take "No" for an answer, and that's the end of it. But some people don't.

What do you do when the person on the other end of your "No" flat out refuses to accept your "No"? You'll discover exactly what to say as well as learn the underlying psychology that motivates them to always ask, and you to always give in! Plus, you'll learn step-by-step what you can do about it.

Simple, but maybe too simple if you need a book on it in the first place

If you need a book on how to set boundaries, it's likely because you don't feel worthy of making them. He does address this, but he makes it seem like you should just be able to change now that you know better. Not sure that's how people actually work. But the principals are right on.

Super short. Direct to the point. Pocket reference

Not ground breaking. Useful reminder of what's important, roots of some behaviors and how to move forward. A reference I return to when I feel I'm veering off course or being manipulated.

I thought it was really great information, just wish it were longer, with more insight to gather

To the Point and Accurate

Although this is a short listen, it is packed with insight. It is not a "one fits all" scenario, and there are parts that will not be applicable to everyone, but it has solid truth and is short enough to listen to whenever we feel these DIFFICULT people once again encroaching into our territory. For many people the examples given will be enough to help them regain their perspective and deal with the neighbor or friend or boss who is pushing them to the limit; for others for whom the difficult person is one of major importance: a parent, for example, a more in depth examination will be necessary.

Short but packed with great advise.

In a little close to 30 minutes you learn the different types and how you should react. You maybe one yourself. The insight is invaluable.

Smart, insightful, and simple.

I would have liked more content, but perhaps that would not have been necessary. I listened to it twice, and will certainly incorporate it into my office life.
