About this listen

Magic marked her for suffering. Magic will save her. Magic will lead her home.

On Tempris, time magic is outlawed, and suspected time mages are hunted. Humans are second-class citizens, shunned by the immortal fey that live on the island. They even have a name for their kind: Shardless.

Taly is one of the lucky humans. Taken in by a fey noble and his family, she's lived a good life, surrounded by people she loves. But when an accidental brush with magic causes her to see things - ghostly apparitions that give her small glimpses into the future - it has deadly consequences. The Sanctorum has returned to the island, and if they find her, they'll kill her. And anyone that tries to protect her.

This includes her best friend, Skye. He was the boy that saved her. The man she knew she could never have. And when he refuses to let her go, their actions might hold the power to reshape the world.

An ancient evil is rising, and in order to protect those that she cares for, Taly will have to sacrifice everything.

Including her heart.

Contains mature themes.

Better than ACOTAR- there, I said it

This is by far one of my favorite series. I CANNOT wait for book 3.
It will probably be an unpopular opinion but I find this book must more enjoyable than ACOTAR. The banter, the world building, the characters…just simply amazing. 10/10 would recommend!!

Exactly the story I hoped to find

Perfect mixture of fantastical world and just enough action to make the personal moments better. So thrilled to find this story and I sincerely hope Stephanie Fisher keeps up the story telling for many years to come, her writing style is perfect for disappearing into her fantastic realm. I’d love to hear more stories from her creativity.

Definitely worth it!

Good story line. Just enough action and romance but not over the top. Great character building. Elizabeth Evens was amazing she did not disappoint.

Great Performance and Story....Until the Ending :-(

Wow! Writing this review immediately after completing listening. A great story, good character and relationship development, outstanding performance (as always delivered by Elizabeth Evan), but the ending completely fell apart! I’m left feeling frustrated and confused! The story didn’t follow at all in last few chapters, absolutely no connection or direction back to the primary characters or storyline....just a hard and jagged turn in a completely different story path! Left feeling incomplete and disappointed.

I came for Elizabeth Evans but I stayed for Stephanie Fisher

This was an injury recovery book for me and got me through some very tough times- I completely escaped into a new world and am happier for it! TLDR: GET THIS BOOK NOW! Idk how this isn’t more popular than it is! If you love ACOTAR or the throne of glass series, then this is for you! Incredible book and amazing audio performance! Elizabeth evans is the best narrator and you can’t convince me otherwise and it’s only better in the next book- I need book 3 but this series is so well written considering there’s an element of time magic to consider so you don’t need to wait for book three- these are so well written that I began to re-listen after finishing the first book and waiting to be able to afford the next and it was like reading an entirely different book even from the first few sentences with how much you learn about the characters! I just finished book two and had to come back and leave a review of book one because of how well written and incredible this story arc is! I could see this being a long long series to come and am so jealous for whoever finds this series AFTER it’s completed so they’re able to listen to them all at once!! So many books these days are slow the first 90% and then amazing and action packed in the last few minutes just to keep you interested to buy the next book- Stephanie fisher won’t do that do you! You can just tell she is a book lover herself and more than capable of keeping your interest in the full story. Also there’s steamy bits but it’s not overwhelming and the story is juicy enough that it can stand on its own two feet without needing sex scenes to keep you interested- it’s been so long that I’ve found a book like this that I forgot it’s possible lol, she doesn’t leave you with no romance but she doesn’t use it as a crutch for her writing! Book one and two of this series are so well written because Stephanie Fisher is so talented she can keep interest while also work building and planting seeds for intrigue down the road! The story is amazing and you will not be disappointed!!
