Stop procrastinating and purchase!

Wow! For the first time, I am impressed with a book on procrastination. This book gave me reasons for why we procrastinate; which will help me to overcome some of my procrastination habit. This is the first time I heard it descibed as a self control problem, like drug abusers. I want to break free of this lack of self-control in my life. I haven't even finished the book, due to drive time not procrastination, and I have already found some success. I believe, this book offers me the most hope for sucess by first realizing why we procrastinate. Hopefully, you will find some sucess as I have!

Just Do It

A book by an obscure Canadian academic who's got something good to say. Tauted as a one-hour read, it was actually 2+ and the reader could easily determine that he was trying real hard to withold the details. Nonetheless, it was good advice and the thesis is "Just Do It"...good advice in any event.

Key information and practical steps

Yes, even though it's short there's lots of information and many practical suggestions for overcoming procrastination. I know I'm going to need to implement the ideas a few at a time, so I'll come back to re-listen when I'm ready for the next steps.

This book is good for both procrastinators and people who live/work/interact with a procrastinator. Understanding the why's helps manage both sides of the relationship. So really, this is a must read for pretty much everyone.

Procrastination

I really could relate to everything in this book. I felt the author approached this subject from the perfect angle. I’ve read other books and article on the subject. This author explains in very simple terms why people put off working or doing something they need to do. It provides examples that you can relate to. Most people do not stay with reading complicated reading because they want quick tips so they can make small changes quickly to begin to feel better about the situations they are experiencing daily. I think this author wrote and read the best realistic most helpful book for this reason. Excellent work.

Practical Information, Concise Delivery

This was helpful in a number of ways. I especially liked that it was short enough to listen to without getting worn down by the weight of the data, while also being detailed enough to keep me interested.

A Better One Is—

"23 Anti-Procrastination Habits." While "Solving the Procrastination Puzzle" is quite in depth about what, exactly, causes the mechanism of procrastination, "23..." actually has many ways to combat the nasty habits we all fall into. (Hint: Buy the kindle first and you can get "23" for the special price.)
This book is okay as a Daily Deal, but I'm not sure it's worth the time. As it turned out, I listened to it 'cause I wanted to avoid my daily writing task.
Besides, the narration, while not the worst, put me to sleep (Oh, gosh! Yet ANOTHER thing that took my away from my chores/tasks!)

A true gem for procrastinators!

This book is short and somewhat comprehensive, yet still very concise and structured. Timothy is a wonderful speaker and narrator. One can't feeling rapport with him.

Key takeaway from the book:
Don't give in to feel good now. Do the work now – and feel good later.

It's one of those books that despite being simple, is one I'm looking forward to relistening to again, in a few months.

Chapter 6 of this book is my "go to" get started.

Chapter 6
"JUST GET STARTED!" Pychyl says. After listening to Chapter 6, I am immediately motivated to start the task. In the rest of the book he explains the why and the how of procrastination. He has also given me other strategies to combat procrastination and change. No matter how talented, we are all limited by who we are, how we think and how we communicate information. He offers valuable information within the confines of being a college professor. I will take the information on this topic whichever way it comes.
