About this listen
Dominic's world had been a fairly simple life.
To live his life to the best of his abilities, gain experience, level up, and strive to enjoy himself as best as he could in a backwater. Which, while tough on its own, was made infinitely harder by his father being the local executioner.
All of that becomes infinitely worse when his entire family is murdered. Now, he's the Prince-in-Hiding for a nearly non-existent royal family.
Several Dukes have risen up in rebellion in his stead to put him in power without ever having met him. Men and women are dying across the country, all for his sake, without him even having ever seen the capital.
All for Dominic Randolph, the Dragon-King.
Except that this isn't even the least of his problems.
A Dungeon has collapsed without a known reason. This is most certainly an ominous beginning to a new phase of the war, something more sinister beginning, or a change in the very fabric of what they thought they knew about Dungeons.
Nick must now push ever onward to reclaim a throne he doesn't even know the color of because if he doesn't, there's no telling who might step into the breach to take it.
Armed with his family's weapons, Lucian's guidance, and his companions, Domnic's adventure continues.
Narrated in duet style.

Story
Ralph could be described as a rogue on a good day. A bad day involved a lot of cursing, calling him a pirate, or sometimes even having a shoot-out. It wasn't really his fault of course, or so he would have you believe. It was the fault of those who wanted to get in his way of making as much money as possible as a smuggler. His family had been gifted with a letter of marque for the Terran Confed, one that is inherited and has been passed down to him. Essentially, it gives him a lot of loopholes and ways through regulations to be a fantastic smuggler. Or as a legal pirate, a Privateer.

Have you ever woken up, rolled over, and thought to yourself, “I’m pretty sure I’m working for a Super Villain.” If you haven’t, then maybe you’re not the type of person to work for a global corporation. Story
Dominic's world had been a fairly simple life. To live his life to the best of his abilities, gain experience, level up, and strive to enjoy himself as best he could in a backwater. Which, while tough on its own, was made infinitely harder by his father being the local executioner. All of that becomes infinitely worse when his entire family is murdered. Dominic is then thrust into a war between noble houses that had been put on hold for generations. A war that the royal family lost, and now only had one true heir and claimant: Dominic Randolph.

Wrench is a Fixer. Someone born to maintain, fix, and correct any and every issue that could go wrong in the habitat he lives in. Someone who makes sure he and his fellow humans can remain on display and entertain their owners as any good human pet would. At least, that’s what he was born to be. He’s taken a different route and joined a resistance faction to help free humanity to become more than just pets to an alien race.

The Krysfelt Academy for Girls is the most prestigious academy in the Magocracy, and it’s about to get its first male student… Like most guys, I never expected to see the inside of that fabled place. But when I’m assigned the Enchanter class—previously reserved for girls—an invitation to Krysfelt is part of the deal. To earn my place, I’ll have to win over the fiery headmistress and the monster girl students—catgirls, orcs, wolfgirls, dryads, goblins—you name it… And that’s not even mentioning the pretty (but slightly insane) tiefling girl who believes she and I are destined to bond…

Keeping his head up and moving forward was what Koda Burke was best at. After having to emancipate himself as a teen and find his own way at a young age, it became part of who he was. The most important part, or so he thought. Until that the faithful day that chance aligned with fate, and his true worth lay revealed when he met with a dying goddess, someone who had lost hope and all but given up until she felt the call from across the void between dimensions.

really enjoying this series. it's been quite different than his other series and that's kinda refreshing. this second book really jumps on track and delivers a ton of plot. a lot happens and it rarely gets mired down with too many small things

so much better than the first book
I almost didn’t purchase the second book in the series, since the ending of the first one left me uninspired.
however, I am so glad I took the plunge and listened to the second volume it was better than the first in so many ways, including more action, more intrigued, more humor, and a much better storyline.
I highly recommend this book

Thoroughly enjoying this series!
Not sure why it's not called "The Glaive Falls" but maybe we'll find out in book 3. 😁
It's dangerous to be a prince in hiding but having the female support he does, had to make it a bit easier.
Looking forward to the next book and seeing if this series connects with the Runnerverse.
I'm giving this book 8.5 out of 5 stars.

Good but issues
Highly recommend book but the story does have issues cuz it wrapped up the main storyline wayyyy too quick on top of not building the world out at all so it didn’t really feel like the MC ever did any adventuring. Also the romance was kinda a snooze bunch of girls push themselves onto him with no real build up and all scenes even remotely R rated are skipped which is odd since this seems like a harem story so kinda odd to skip all romance or buildup with them
