About this listen

As a 10-year-old orphan, all Wick ever wanted was money, power, and well, what else was there? Enough is never enough. His father's death left him only with a glass amulet, his trusty spade, and two level one skills. Six months in the backwater city of Outlast, Wick has finally decided to make his move for a brighter future. It may cost him the beating of his life, but he lives by the Sprawler's Code: The strong live long, but the bold get the gold.

Follow Wick on the beginning of his new life as he explores new powers and manipulates anyone foolish enough to get in his way.

Great works

I love everything Outspan does. Very talented author and everything I've read of this writer is always a gift to the litrpg genre.

It should get more attention

A good fantasy book with great world and character building. Well worth the credit!

Really good, but why?

This book was a joy to listen to in most respects. The story was engaging, the narration good, and the writing was well done. Definitely worth the credit.

The reason it’s not getting five stars is that this book is essentially a prequel and an afterward to what would be a really good trilogy.

The world that’s outlined and set up has potential to be a vast and nuanced setting, the same goes for the plot. But instead we get the origin story and the part that happens after the big monster has been beaten but nothing in between.

I really hope the author intends to flesh out all the parts that are casually glossed over in future books otherwise this book will turn out to be a big letdown overall.

Very good

This to me was a very good listen. I listen to all my audiobooks while working out. Some stuff I just can’t get in to. This series has a ton of potential imo. I’m in the middle of the second book right now and already sad there is not a 3rd book out to start right away

Great book, main character is a bit too smart

Well written. Really well read. But the protagonist is a bit too smart and a lot too conniving. He talks often about overcoming his difficulties through tenacity but is not really shown struggling to overcome what are admittedly very large obstacles. Still a fun read.

Not What I expected, Well Done!

I don’t know what I expected, I picked this book randomly. What I found was a Gem! A well written Adventure with likable and dislikable characters. An interesting World and dynamics including Magic, Dungeons, Knights, Thieves, Slaves, and so much More…

this is a missed opportunity for a great series

this is a missed opportunity for a great series because they've sort of condensed what could have been a great serious into one book and because of this it's sort of disjointed and we are missing a lot of information at the end about the different characters the should have at being a 6 book series hopefully the author will take its time and make sure fix that

Loved the world

The mc is smart cold type and I like that, the beginning was a bit weird for me, felt like their was a weird sort of innocence you'd get from a ya book but it got better. The author did the future and past timeline at the same time thing and it felt weird in the beginning and a little spoilerish but felt good by the time the book ended. all in all I just feel like the author grew as the book went on. so I have high Hope's for the next book.
