This book is so great

Hugely underrated. On par with the best selling fantasy books. Must read in my opinion

Loved the first, crazy about the second

It is too good... I love books with OP MCs alongside an awesome story.

Can't wait for more.

Creative writing.

I just wanted to point out a small, but significant detail that points out the competency of the writer.

When writing the segments taking place in the loop, it's in first person, showing how that world literally revols around them. While outside the loop, the writing is in third person, showing the opposite. Great writing choice.

I enjoy the story but...

It's a really solid story and I really am enjoying most of it. But I'm kinda annoyed that the mc is still cowed by his mom and aunt. I sometimes feel like the stuff he went through doesn't effect him much. Ppl say he's changed but he was more resolute in the loop than irl. Ig it makes sense in a number of ways and situations but imo I feel like he should show a lil more mental damage and anger towards the ppl that put him in the situation. Some more internal conflict wouldve made the convos between his aunt more of an interesting storyline.

I'd like to think I'm not suggesting him to be more edgy or overly angsty, but a cold/stoic and more confident ver of his former introverted nature but still able to joke here and there so he's not going towards the edgy route.

I support him being mature and logical about things and not holding thing over their heads cuz it is true that u can't change the past but there are times where I'd wish he'd tell his mom or aunt off outside of the loop cuz honestly they still are hollow bullies and imo the end don't justify the means in this case. They went from having a bright but unfortunate child to worrying about a walking nuke of a person their gov wants to control.

I understand his mom being hard on him since they are still nobles. So maybe I'm being petty and him not being upset is something he learned in the loop. Yet I can't get over the fact that there should be more evidence of his trauma and a smidge of insanity. Imagine you being a loop you have no clue how to solve for three years and then another year for the rest to get out?

An improvement from the first - A true hidden gem

Labeled as 'A hidden Gem' by Audible, I was skeptic. The first book was a bit random.
However this book is much better with a clear structure and character depth.
Tbe main character's actions are justifiable and not annoying at all.
The reader also did a great job giving life to the characters with a huge improvement than the first.
There are some confusing elements in the story, and with stuff not exactly explained. Hopefully they will be addressed in the future books.

Looking forward to starting the next books!

Not a lot happens but it's still very enjoyable

After the structure of the last book I think the author didn't know where to go and was totally self aware of it. As a result this book is mostly a slice of life, which isn't really what I was expecting. But fortunately like any decent slice of life the characters and world carried me through the book with plenty of enjoyment. The only reason I'm giving this book a 4 instead of a 5 is the undermining of my expectations created by the first book.

good read

the 1st book in this series was rough and hard to follow but this second book definitely helped explain a lot of it and bring ya into the next saga of Ian perfectly. worth the credit

Great second book

The plot thickens. While the first book introduced the protagonist, his family and friends, it's in the second book that their characters are more expanded. Specifically because we now know that this is their real selves and that there are no more loop do-overs, it helps bring a level of severity and consequence that the first book lacked. That being said, I miss some of the callus, almost borderline psychopathic tendencies that the MC displayed in the first book. I know it was due to the trauma level heaviness of the loop on the protagonist psyche, but it seems a bit odd that it's not as prevalent in the second book. Book 2 does allude that it will resurface in the third book so here's to that. The tourney fights were great and the budding friendship between the first prime and Ian are highlights of the book. The narrator is great as always. So far the series is pretty great and I'd recommend it.

Interesting, but...

Great continuation from book one. The downside of this book is the love interests, yes plural, go no where. Also the intimacy between characters is concerning.
