it works

Williams and Zinn both have lovely voices, so listening was very pleasant. I was already familiar with meditation, so I took to it easily. I would recommend this program to anyone. all you need is some patience and a few minutes a day. The print version has a CD so the tracks are referred to by number that doesn't correspond to the chapter numbers. you can figure it out pretty easy but it is something to figure out.

Great listening

It has been a month I finished the MBSR program. While listening to the book, I could realize how much my life has already changed by the practices and the new way of living in the present moment.
It was a pleasant and understandable listening although english is not my first language. Great narrators!

I've struggled with anxiety, depression and ADHD..

Where does The Mindful Way Through Depression rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The absolute best purchase I've made.

What did you like best about this story?

The practical tools that you can apply immediately to live a happier life.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

nope

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book has changed my life already. Road rage no more, I can focus while spending time with my family. I smile more, which I hardly ever did and if I did it was usually a fake smile to avoid the questions of "are you ok?" "is something wrong." The narrators stories were so easy to relate to and his insight from the stories makes you just open up and be hopeful for getting well.

Beyond reading

Start doing and experience - skip the theory - what mindfulness is all about. Reading or listening may be necessary but is not sufficient, listening and practicing are.

Very useful and clinically proven.

This program now has evidence for preventing relapse in major depression. Mindfulness is an essential skill in developing emotion regulation skills and it has been implemented in other formal psychotherapeutic programs like DBT and ACT.
I think it will be useful if you already are stable on medication and want to try tapering it off.

Wonderful Mindfulness Based CBT instruction.

The books narrative portion hit all the right notes and evolved the transmission of insight and instruction at just the right pace.

Learn, grow, and heal!

This book and audio book has helped me come back from the depths of depression. I have learned so many things about how the mind works, how to deal with body sensations and negative thinking patterns. At one point in my depression I was afraid of every thought and every thing. Now I am almost completely off any medication and loving life and myself. I still have anxieties but they no longer rule over me. I am writing this review in hope that you also can learn, grow and heal.
