“Vastly knowledgeable and genuinely brilliant . . . An easy yet most effective how-to guide on sleep.”—Dr. Matthew Walker, New York Times bestselling author of Why We Sleep

From renowned sleep scientist Dr. Aric Prather, a book that offers a simple yet powerful plan to improve your sleep in seven days

We need sleep to survive. Sleep is as essential as food, water, and oxygen. So how can something that should be so instinctual and automatic be so hard? Dr. Prather runs one of the world’s most successful sleep clinics and has cracked the code to help even the most restless of sleepers get a good night’s rest.

In The Sleep Prescription, Dr. Prather shares the powerful solutions that he uses to help his patients at the clinic achieve healing and restorative sleep. Going beyond the obvious solutions, Dr. Prather shares surprisingly simple yet deeply effective techniques that will help you lie back and let sleep work its magic. Over the course of seven days, this book will teach you how to get out of your own way, so that your body can do effortlessly what it was built to do: sleep well.

Helpful

Concepts in the book are helpful and work. Could do without all the racism references.

Added to my Game Changers Book List!

I LOVED this book! It was on the greater good’s list for best books in 2022 and for good reason! I got sucked in within the first few minutes and was hooked by the author’s sincerity and positivity. I have struggled with sleep my whole life. In our family, we joke that we have a long line of not very good sleepers. This book really helped me! The book takes you on a 7 day journey to improving your sleep but I saw results the first night. The tips Dr. Prather provides are easy, practical, and things we can all incorporate. Of course, change is hard, but Dr. Prather presents his strategies for achieving better sleep in such a positive way! I thought that was the best part of the book! He understands people, real life, that everything is interconnected to so many things but still provides real examples of things we can all do to sleep better. I appreciated all of the ways Dr. Prather helped to reframe sleep “issues”, presenting different points of view. I also appreciated that he gave real examples of way to overcome real world obstacles. He touched on things like rumination. If you’re struggling with sleep this book is a must read for you, but even if you consider yourself a relatively good sleeper, then you’d still get something out of this book. The science presented is interesting and thought provoking. I highly recommend this book! Enjoy!
