About this listen

From adolescent snogging to apartment shares, relationships, career crises, and children, Vince and Joy is the unforgettable story of two lives lived separately but forever entwined. Back in the '80s, teenagers Vince and Joy met, fell desperately in love, parted, and never quite said goodbye. Now, nearly 20 years later, they’ve both begun to ask themselves if that long-ago romance was the enduring love they’ve been searching for....

The character detail in the story is very good and the opportunities between Vince & Joy keep you engaged. The end… ugh!

While I enjoyed the writing style, the plot left a bit to be desired. The ending was disappointing as well.

Not her best work

The story didn't grab me, I skipped the middle and didn't miss much. The ending was disappointing. Narrators were good.

Drawn out with unsatisfying ending

Perfect reading to take you away from the moment and step into someone else's. Hard to put down and a VERY enjoyable well written story.

Just the kind of read needed to take you away

First, major props to the narrators- each character was so specific and consistent. They elevated a great read to a near perfect experience. A lot of the comments talk about their frustrations with the characters lack of a backbone but I thought this rather shone a light on a very real human experience- where no matter how toxic a relationship is or how mistreated we are, we find reasons to stay and would rather hurt ourselves than hurt someone else. as hard of a pill that is to swallow- that is what we do more often than not. Lisa, I'm a die-hard fan. Thank you for consistently moving me with your stories.

Another Lisa Jewell Book I Loved!
