About this listen

A town put to the sword. The young forcibly recruited. An old man out for revenge.

After his town is put to the sword and the children are taken to replace the fallen, an old man is out for revenge. He’s ready to fail at the most difficult challenge in the world: cultivation.

Too corrupted to even take the first steps, the sly old elder simply agreed with those who told him that it was impossible. Then, he quietly ignored them, rubbed his hands together, and started anyway. He had always failed in what he did: He lost his way from the academy, his command was devastated by a mage, he lost his town, and now his last hopes for the future had been stolen by a group of raiders. The only thing that had never failed him was his sharp mind and philosophy. He would cultivate...no matter what it cost him.

A lifetime of failure can dull and dampen a soul. A reason to live, a goal, can change that in an instant. It is always darkest just before the dawn.

This may be one of the most unique cultivation novels I've read, Smash that buy button. Be warned, this is not a novel packed full of action, it's a methodical and well-developed story of characters.

Travis Baldree is, as always, a masterful narrator.

This is must-read

Axiom was a really well done cultivation and self progression litRGP. The Divine Dungeon ties were subtle but consistent which makes me so excited about the expansion on Cal's world. I quickly fell in love with Elder and his charismatic personality.

I'm eagerly waiting for the next installment. I can't wait to see where this journey goes.

A must read expansion to the Divine Dungeon world!

This book had heart, it was funny and the pacing was perfect. This is a cultivation book. Highly recommended. Narrator was great.

Loved it.

It's good, especially the narration. Travis Baldree always delivers 100%. As I said, it's good, however the story progresses in such an odd way. It's almost meandering between focusing great length on certain aspects related to cultivation, but speeds through some important parts.. And focuses on parts of the story that really didn't have a driving force in any regard, and were pretty useless. I think it tried to balance out the story, bug in the end bogged it down, made it hard to listen to at times. I most likely won't continue the series.

It's good.. But

Perfect backstory for Artorian. Makes you love his character even more than you did before.

Amazing

I could tell this was a co-written book. Vanderkerken has a different style of action than Krout does and I don't feel the same type of detailed engagement.
That being said, I enjoyed the story and I'm getting the next one.

Worth it

This is such an amazing story. Very inspirational, Artorians Archives is by far my favorite series in the Divine Dungeon series.

The protagonist, an old man, is very endearing. A unique fantasy story that has human interest as well as action.

Oddly entertaining

this book starts out okay then quickly slips into a long period of mind-numbingly boring world establishing that lasts many hours but it does ultimately pick back up towards the end. book 2 will almost certainly be better.

Extremely slow start
