About this listen

A powerful case has been made for emotional intelligence and its role in leadership. As Annie McKee and Richard Boyatzis showed in their best-selling books, Primal Leadership and Resonant Leadership, the best leaders use their emotional intelligence to create resonance with others.
Resonant leaders are attuned to the needs and dreams of the people they lead. They create conditions in which people can excel. They listen to life's wake-up calls and enhance their capacity for excellence.
In Becoming a Resonant Leader the authors provide a clear process and a wealth of exercises to help you develop your emotional intelligence and sustain resonance in your relationships. Reflecting 20 years of research and work with executives, the exercises in this practical audio resource help you:

  • Develop your emotional intelligence
  • Create a vision of your ideal self and desired future
  • Articulate your strengths and values
  • Craft a plan for intentional change
  • Build resonance with your team, organization and community
  • Relevant and inspiring, Becoming a Resonant Leader will help you chart a journey to better leadership.

The book is OK, nothing special, but there are too many exercises for audio format.

Not an appropriate book for audio format

This is more of a workbook than anything else, so I encourage folks to purchase a paper or eBook version of it. Content is great, just not a good fit for Audio.

Not suitable for Audible

Book is not synced correctly. What is being read is two to 3 chapters off.

Not accurate

Chapters are not synced with Table of Contents from paper text. There are 7 total chapters in book and audio only has 5. There are no page numbers or way to correlate Table of Contents from book to audio version.

The book propose a lot of exercises that you need to have a pen and paper, in my case I listen to books on my way to work so I can’t do what is needed

Good book but not to listen

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I wish I'd know this was a highly interactive written "work"book. I only listen in my car so I didn't get as much out of this book. And I just thought it was so-so in general.

What could the authors have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I wonder if the "work" part of it is available online? Some of the book has you write out a ton of stuff. Even if I were not in the car, it would be annoying to write out.

What didn’t you like about Jonathan Marosz’s performance?

Just ok...NOT for Audible

This is a great book but not a great audible book. Because it is designed to primarily a work book it is difficult to listen to and not at all effective. Get the book in paper and skip the audio version.

Should have got the book this time

This is a great book, but it requires so much in-depth thought and asks so many questions that it is really not suitable, in my opinion, for audio format. This type of book must actually be read by turning pages

Audio - not for this book

So the book has some amazing information that truly helps you become a better leader. Two major problems for the audio version, the first is that the audio version has only "5 chapters" but the actual book has more and these chapters share space with other chapters, for example i'm on "chapter 4" mid way through but it's already on chapter six meaning that "chapter 4" is SOME of chapter 5 and SOME of chapter 6 but NONE of chapter 4. this makes it incredibly hard to navigate (especially if you are doing school work with this book). Otherwise the info is great, the narrator is clear and easy to understand but overall I do not recommend this book until it has been fixed.
