About this listen

When the Alpha Particle was created, Daniel was in a hotel and there were insufficient interfaces for him to receive one. This would usually result in Sapient Deconstruction, but Ivey saved him by gifting part of her interface. It allowed Daniel to keep his sanity.

Together they formed a team and fought up the tower in a series of bloody battles relying on Daniel ingenuity to create traps to adjust the battlefield to their advantage. Via morse code they were made aware that there was a small group of survivors on the top floor who were in a stalemate with a deadly monster and likely to succumb at any moment. At a significant cost to the community, they destroyed the mana octopod that was terrorizing the top floor.

Their job is not done.

Daniel and Ivey are not part of the fledging community but they know they are not safe. There are still monsters on the floors below and more deadly ones in the streets below.

Daniel will need to draw on his unique advantages; his power to shape plants that let him create devastating traps, the power he gained from consuming zombie cores and the community he has helped save. All of them will be necessary to carve out more of the world for the human survivors of the event.

Sprout is the second volume in the Broken Interface series, set in Alex Kozlowski’s Alpha Physics Universe—described by fans as “a breath of fresh air” in the LitRPG genre, with stories that are “human, thought out, and realistic.”

Awesome

I read book 1 Kernel, I liked listening to book 2. This series is very well written and narrated. I don’t personally think it drags like others have said. I feel like everything is well explained and the progression is at the correct pace. I’ll definitely read book 3.
Very well done all around.

not the standard litrpg yet really good

while I enjoy this series, it's not for everyone. it's light on a structured stat system yet it's because that is part of the main characters story. it's also extremely realistic and is how is truly see escaping a 50 story high building would be like if you wanted to survive and have limited information about the system.

amazing sequel

This series is a very different take on the post-apocalyptic sub-genre in LitRPG. The story is amazing and very well written. The characters are interesting and complex. Can't wait to check out the next part!

Hotel apocalypse series? Yes!

So our hero and his crew are still in the hotel trying to make it safe for those that are already there and to clear it out of the feral zombie things so that they might be a sanctuary for other humans around them.
I guess I would classify this as a "day in the life" apocalypse LitRPG because the aliens controlling this as a game.
If you liked the 1st book, you should like this one just as well.
I was gifted this book with the expectation of an honest review.
It's a good book, and I give it a 5 out of 5.

Story drags

I’m not going to recommend this book. Simone needed to tell the author that two. Oils and and storyline finally makes it out of the building? Come on.

The MC seems to be getting dumb

If this MC continues to get dumber and slower in his reasoning skills this is the end of the series for me. I don't think this will be like those top of the line series with an MC who can reason, so let's see where it goes. Dumb and done or smart with a great start.
