About this listen

Getting stuck in virtual reality isn't fun, but being trapped in an NPC's dead body is really the pits. Still, there might be a way out-provided John can find the Scroll of Rebirth. The problem is, finding it is only half the hassle; knowing how to use it is another bag of worms entirely. Several months of full VR immersion may have turned the cumbersome walking deadman into a swift killing machine, allowing him to earn the patronage of the Lord of Chaos and even acquire his own crypt - but John is still a long way away from reaching the coveted level 100 which would allow him to escape his virtual prison and rescue his own physical body.

John has run out of time; he can't afford to play by somebody else's rules anymore. Which means it's time to set his own. Would you really call his plan crazy? Earning all the remaining XP in one fell swoop by killing the terrible Lord of Decay? A crazy escapade indeed, but who better suited for it than our very own Dead Rogue?

Didn't see that ending coming - but I liked it!

Definitely a twist ending! All the books are pretty good and the story as a whole is interesting and fun. You can take this third book as an ending if you like and not continue the series. It definitely feels like an ending with a really good plot twist ending in my opinion. It's nice to read a book where the main character isn't in control - for real, like actually not in control. And doesn't end up all knowing, all powerful, and with everything ending in his favor the way he wants. It's actually refreshing. There were more than a few times in this book, and in the series, where I felt anxious for the protagonist. That's kind of rare, because most of the time the MC is overpowered, or you feel like they're never in any real long term danger. I think this is the first time where I felt like the MC could suffer irreparable harm if things went wrong for him (like if Garth got his skull). Well done on the author's part. Even the narrator's boring voice couldn't take that away. Anyway, there are more books in the series. I might check them out, but overall, I'm satisfied with this ending. Had an enjoyable time, and I recommend this series.

To much restart this should be listed as new series

In the outside world Mc is the same his attitude is the same but a whole “new” yet extremely similar virtual world…. Another new game character… why not a new series.. other then that an enjoyable read

Great Series

This is a great Series but I kinda hated the ending, like a lot, you expect some grand ending and it just ends with him sitting on his couch.

Good yet...

I'm not sure if I'm going to continue. this seems like it should be the last book and the conclusion for the characters.

I'm still not a fan of the narrator and knowing there are more books in the series makes me cringe.

The casual planning behind friends back

From book 1-3 I’ve enjoyed every bit of journey our John Doe went through. And through it all there always someone within John “inner” circle hoping to get more than their slice of pie. And that stand true especially in book 3.

the anticipation of what happens next, the tension between John and Isabella, and Scarecrow just being too adorable.

This may just be my favorite book of the entire series and that just my thoughts.. but if you enjoy fantasy, gaming and undead rogues then I highly recommend checking this series out.

Twisted friendless tornado of dumb luck

Each book in this series left me frustrated with the lack of characters that you could root for. I will not seek further works of this author.
