About this listen

The world is wide, and the heavens are high. More mysteries and adventures fill the world than can be contained in the pages of a single story. But some few can be glimpsed here.

Join Gu Xuilan as she journeys to her home in the deathblighted desert now ironically named the Golden Fields to face family, her own doubts, and the relentless rise of the dead.

Join Bai Meizhen in the small and personal story of her discovery of love, blooming at the Argen Peak Sect, only hinted at in the course of Ling Qi's story.

Join many characters from all across the world of Destiny Cycle, in small stories both grand and personal, here in the Journey to the East and other Tales of Destiny.

Inspired by ancient folklore, modern martial arts, and Xianxia, Threads of Destiny cultivates a world both fantastic in setting yet familiar in the humanity of its inhabitants. Don't miss this installment of one of the most popular titles on Royal Roads—with over 7 million reads—elegantly performed by Earphones Award-winning voice artist Natalie Naudus.

Yrsillar is such an under rated author!!!!

Yrsillar is absolutely amazing at character creation and development. Something that is very much overlooked in this genre bloated with it's insistent emphasis on meaningless battle porn and over the top substanceless spectacle. It is truly criminal that they are not given the due they so rightly deserve, this latest addition to the Destiny Cycle is only further proof of that. Very few authors remember that their worlds are just as much a character as the MC's themselves. With Journey to the East and the rest of the stories in this book we see that Yrsillar has definitely not been so short sighted and lax in developing their world. LOL Even if we must learn that Bai mating habits are.... concerning. This book showed us just how wide and deep the lands of the Destiny Cycle truly are and i for one am immensely glad to have been given even these small glimpses. The people of this world do not revolve around the MC they are their own person and even when we do not see it the cycle continues. I am looking forward to see more from this author and hope maybe in the future there will be other glimpses into the wider world of this refreshingly unique series.

An ocean of minds

This is the pulling of the curtain I so long for, to see through the eyes of those that walk around the focal. I'm glad I listened to this.

Stories told

Yes!!! This book tells the stories of characters not on the main path of the books and I’m living for it ! I was hoping we would unfold other people’s stories eventually and making a whole book of these stories just makes sense ! My favorite was the origin of the BAI and also how Ms girl got a new gf

Only adds to the story

I am a huge fan of this series. And the author has done something I have longed for in such an unexpected but amazing way. I loved hearing the other pov in the main series but getting truly as though they are the MC. And giving more details to all the little questions I have had for some time now. Can’t wait for more of these characters.

Chaos

As previous books were marvelous 5 Stars this one was a disappointment Introducing bunch of new characters not sure where they are from Reminds me the last book of Game of Thrones I kept listening waiting for something good and boom it ends. I might buy the next just for curiosity and hope that it will be as good as first four
