About this listen

His Lordship Arrives.

Corruption. Greed. War. Lev is no stranger to the evils of the world, having spent a lifetime fighting the predatory system that ensnared the world's population and turned them into puppets for the leaders of humanity.

But after being assassinated, he finds himself in a new world—one with different yet familiar evils. It's a similar road he must traverse, but this time he can do so with a lifetime of experience behind him.

I found the story entertaining and even though it's short, it made me want to find out what happens next. The Narrator does a very good job and keeping you entertained, and the quality of the recording is very good as well. My only complaint would be that it feels a little too short.

A good quick story

Parents- PG13-R- high school and up
Language- R - lots of bad language with many f-bombs
Violence- PG13- from what I read normal to the genre
Sexual Content- talk of prostitution rings and working girls, insinuations, I did not finish the book so I can't speak to the extent of this content.

It's a story of a guy who gets assassinated and reincarnated into another person but oddly both seem to inhabit the same body. It could have been an interesting story but I had to stop listening when the f-bombs started flying... it's just not for me.

Narrator- The narration was dramatic and I preferred listening at 1.5x speed. The book starts with a crazy long lead in music which was a bit distracting during the read intro with that in the background.

This is a unique story with a main character that’s different from other characters I’ve read about he doesn’t want to be a hero just save the people from oppression and it’s a good interesting story to hear

Fantastic story

Overall not a bad story. A little world building and characters back story. But mostly just keeping the story moving forward. I will pick up the next book, but I hope the author will consider releasing bundles to really get the bang for each credit spent.

Good job by the narrator giving everyone a unique voice.

I was honestly surprised how good the story was while listening. The flashbacks seemed a bit excessive, but otherwise it was an interesting story and I'll likely pick up the next book in the series.

Fairly good

Was expecting something more in the line of the manga “monster”. Was pleasantly surprised that it was something different. I do like Monster but this book is nothing like it. Isekai, Goblins, and empire building are really the only things in common. Great book, narrator does a great job.

I don't like to be too negative in any review and I see lot of potential in this novel but it just isn't something that should have made it to the final publishing

the dialog is painfully stiff
the scene changes are choppy and confusing
the main character is weirdly inconsistent (is he a cold hearted pragmatist or a hopeless idealist? is he a hardened soldier or a prissy Noble? who knows)
there is very little meat, the story bounces from plot point to plot point with no smooth transition and no time to get to know or even remotely care about the characters.
Lastly the painful, truly excruciating, info dumps,
character A "I've never heard about this obvious thing that everyone knows?"
character B "you fool, well let me explain it to you in intricate detail so the reader has some background info"

overall I don't think it's worth it, especially since you aren't getting any real bang for your buck with how short the book is.

might read it instead so I can skim and see if the author improves

narrator did a solid job

reads like a rough draft
