Sir John Hargrave
About this listen
Have you ever wished you could reprogram your brain, just as a hacker would a computer? In this three-step guide to improving your mental habits, learn to take charge of your mind and banish negative thoughts, habits, and anxiety - in just 21 days!
A seasoned author, comedian, and entrepreneur, Sir John Hargrave once suffered from unhealthy addictions, anxiety, and poor mental health. After cracking the code to unlocking his mind's full and balanced potential, his entire life changed for the better. In Mind Hacking, Hargrave reveals the formula that allowed him to overcome negativity and eliminate mental problems at their core.
Through a 21-day, three-step training program, this book lays out a simple yet comprehensive approach to help you rewire your brain and achieve healthier thought patterns for a better quality of life. It hinges on the repetitive steps of analyzing, imagining, and reprogramming to help break down barriers preventing you from reaching your highest potential.
By treating your brain as a computer and mastering Hargrave's mind hacking formula, you, too, can create a positive, permanent shift in your thinking, leading to personal and professional triumphs in all areas of life.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Story
Ryan Babineaux and John Krumboltz have come to a compelling conclusion: happy and successful people tend to spend less time planning and more time acting. They get out into the world, try new things, and make mistakes, and in doing so, they benefit from unexpected experiences and opportunities. Drawing on the authors’ research in human development and innovation, Fail Fast, Fail Often shows readers how to allow their enthusiasm to guide them, to act boldly, and to leverage their strengths - even if they are terrified of failure.

In fact, How to Get Sh*t Done will teach you how to zero in on the three areas of your life where you want to excel, and then it will show you how to offload, outsource, or just stop giving a damn about the rest. In How to Get Sh*t Done she shows how even the most perfectionistic among us can tap in to our inner free spirit and learn to feel like badasses rather than drudges.

Enjoyed the first half...
Didn't realize the second half was training exercises. Doesn't translate well into an audiobook. I could see how the actual book would be good to have.

Annoying voices
I liked the concept, but had to stop listening. The annoying voices and random chit chat I found stressful.

Amazing (if you have a technology background)
I'll start out by saying that I've never written a review for an audiobook prior to this, however after seeing the negative comments, I felt compelled to do so. I find this book to be incredibly well-written, thought-out and delivered. Sir John Hargrave has an ability to deliver heavy material with a light, humorous touch. I've listened to it so many times, and that says a lot as there are only a handful of books in my vast audiobook library I can say that about. A bit of context: I have a technology background and I think that makes this book resonate even more for me. I can see where someone who doesn't have tech running through their veins (so to speak) may not find the book's tech analogies and coding background quite as resonate. However, if you are indeed someone who has been in the world of technology, or are tech-oriented, I can't think of a better book to help bring these concepts from the abstract to the logical and vice versa as we tech folk tend to be very heavy on the logic side of things. But, if you aren't a techno-geek, do not let that dissuade you...this is still a fantastic book on understanding how to get around our routine way of thinking and exploit what your brain is really capable of.
I've done the mind-hacking challenges in the book, and they are both practical and powerful. Not only are these exercises practical, the author believes in the power of the message and the concept of open source that this book is actually available in total on his website: https://www.mindhacki.ng/. That's powerful stuff. Happy hacking!

Life Changing!
Sir John Hargrave gives us the tools to transform our lives ridding us of the negative impact from limited thinking. He shares with us in a humorous way that allows the lessons to stick with us unlike the many lessons we've heard before that have literally gone in one ear and out the other. Give it a try! You literally have nothing to lose but your problems!

Outstanding!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Going thru the most difficult time as a family, this book, the exercises, the science behind, is helping me keep my sanity and, actually, even grow!
Highly recommended!

Too nerdy
I’m sure this would be way better if narrarated/written more normal. The amount of nerdyness in this book makes it unbearable to listen to. I want a self help book. Not a compilation of poor jokes and star wars references. Stopped at day 5. Not for me...and I am a Star Wars fan too btw
