The Yakuza have rolled into town, and Vince finds himself caught in a standoff between the old and new worlds of magic.

Doubts remain over who tried to assassinate Vince, and the cops have locked down the city to protect the mayor's reputation. But Vince has a job to do. He's taken back the mafia's old territory for their don, but their rival still refuses to accept reality and bend the knee.

Meanwhile, Houou tears itself apart in a factional dispute that spills onto Vince's lap. With the Yakuza circling, Vince is now the mafia's greatest weapon in an escalating gang war that threatens to spiral out of control.

With Christmas around the corner, he even lands himself a special gift—a cursed magic item that might launch Vince to greater heights, or drag him to oblivion.

It's great to watch the story progress and see Vince inching towards expanding his harem as the story sets up for a big event next book.

Great as usual

I've enjoyed the series so far. when I like a series I double back and pick up the audiobook if that's an option. I don't wait for the audio to release when the ebook is released earlier. I believe I discovered this author's work through the Kindle unlimited program. if nothing else that program has been phenomenal when it comes to introducing new Authors to me. back to this book I was listening to it mostly on light rail. I think I missed a couple of things so I don't want to do an in-depth review. and it really has been a while since I read the ebook version. in fact as of the time of this review before is already out and ebook format. I will say though that the narrator has delivered another fantastic performance. I've enjoyed her work for quite some time and honestly that's true of the author as well. I'm very eager for him too drop another book for the demon throne series. with that said I'll simply say a round of applause to everybody who had a hand in bringing the story to us, the audiobook listeners.

I recommend the series

This book breaks the curse of book 3 being . This book is amazing and just keeps getting better. Stephanie Savannah does an amazing job as always. One of the handful of narrators that can do both female and male voices well.
K.D Robertson has a way of writing a story that is way above and beyond others. The world building and characters are top tier 👌. The God of fluff strikes again with so many tails and ears. I was dying laughing at the stab proof jacket reference to Neural Wraith. This book keeps up with all the girls not leaving anyone out or forgotten. This book lays the foundation for a few more girls to join the Pride. The Christmas special is everything I've imagined it and the addition of Fia was a nice touch i just hope V and her dont slip back into bad habits. I'm so excited for the heist and all that entails for the story. If you want to more of the story join the Patreon. We'll i didn't sleep for work tonight but it was worth it.

So many Fluffy tails!

The only thing I dislike about this series is waiting for the next book to come out. K.D. Robertson once again cements himself as the pinnacle author of the genre. Greatly looking forward to the next one.

Amazing as always
