The fear of abandonment typically results in a person unintentionally engaging in behaviors that push other people away, thus leading to their worst fear... that of being abandoned. Then being abandoned causes the person to fear abandonment even more in the future. I never understood why I did the things I do until listening to this book. It breaks it down in simple ways that it connects it to every negative action I’ve committed and then connects to my past. I struggle with relationships and this seems to have explained my subconscious actions. This is a good starting point of understanding.

I enjoyed this audible and never really considered how much abandonment can play such a role on one's self esteem and future relationships. It can cause one to essentially self sabotage future relationships. I found the chapters enlightening as well as refreshing as I continue to move forward in the right direction towards healing.
