About this listen
Understand passive aggressive personality and improve your relationships!
What is passive aggressiveness? Which people in your life display this behavior? How can you stem passive aggressive behavior?
Personalities: Passive Aggressive explains this common and insidious personality trait and how you can cope with it. You'll find out about how passive aggressive behavior is related to bullying, and how to recognize when passive aggressive behavior is directed towards you.
Here's a preview of what you can learn from this insightful book:
"Your relationships, if strained, may incorporate an element of passive aggressive behavior. You may not know it because this kind of behavior hides behind a facade and doesn't always make itself clear. It's every bit as harmful as aggression, which is shown in a physical way and can indeed have long term effects mentally. The damage done by people who use passive aggressiveness can be long lasting. It can indeed last longer than the bruises left after a beating. Children who experience it may continue right through their adulthood to feel the effects."
Do you feel like people are always picking on you and interfering in your life? Do you feel that what you do is never good enough? Do the people around you always seem to make unreasonable demands on you?
If so, you may have a passive aggressive personality. Don't worry - this helpful book can teach you to understand yourself better, improve your relationships, and live a happier life!
Download Personalities: Passive Aggressive right away to find out how to manage this difficult personality trait!
You'll be so glad you did!

He or she has no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt, or remorse. One in 25 everyday Americans, therefore, is secretly a sociopath.

The Introvert Advantage dispels common myths about introverts - they’re not necessarily shy, aloof, or antisocial - and explains how they are hardwired from birth to focus inward, so outside stimulation such as chitchat, phone calls, parties, or office meetings can easily become "too much". Most importantly, it thoroughly refutes many introverts’ belief that something is wrong with them. Instead, it helps them recognize their inner strengths - their analytical skills, ability to think outside the box, and strong powers of concentration.

Personalities
This was a little bit helpful,a little bit not.It was too short to go inot detail, but maybe just enough to lead someone to the right direction. Some of the advice just seemed laughable.Narration was ok but sometimes words, especially the first word or 2 of a sentence was repeated by Mr. Moon.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

Excellent guide
Would you consider the audio edition of Personalities: Passive Aggressive to be better than the print version?
Finally a user friendly explanation of annoying "crazy-making" behavior and an excellent guide on how to manage it calmly and assertively. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has to endure manipulative behavior in workmates, family or friends who communicate their anger indirectly with sarcasm, ignoring, denial, gossiping and other passive aggressive methods.

Useful insight
What made the experience of listening to Personalities: Passive Aggressive the most enjoyable?
I appreciate the information from this book. It has given insight and definitely helped with understand a few people I know who exhibit these same types of behaviors. I was never able to exactly pinpoint what was going on with these relationships but that I always left feeling so frustrated, mad, and confused. It nearly drove me insane. But after reading this... OMG! It described their (the people I know) behaviors perfectly. I no longer feel so confused but more relieved knowing I can finally see what the heck is going on.

Practical Advice
This was a very interesting book to listen to. I have several people who engage in passive/aggressive behavior in my life, so that spoke to me. What really interested me, however, was finding some similarities in the behavior myself and that shamed me. I never considered I might be manipulating people – and I didn’t mean to do it – but I can think of several instances where I saw myself described in this book.
So what am I going to do about it? Along with a great section about how to identify the behavior, there are some great suggestions of how to modify behavior. Sometimes having ‘meditating’ as a suggestion sounds silly, but the author suggests that decreasing stress through meditation would be a good thing. I could see how taking a few minutes to center myself before interacting with someone who is frustrating me would be a good thing. As well as meditation, there were other coping skills mentioned, all of which were worth a second look.
As for myself, I think the most useful suggestion was attacking my penchant for procrastination. I don’t mean to do it – I just take on more than I can actually accomplish and then miss deadlines. Sometimes those misses really hurt people, even if it wasn’t my intention. The author suggests being realistic about what I can do and what I can’t and being honest. Not promising I can do something when it’s clear I won’t be able to. Addressing potential missed deadlines long before they actually happen. Being proactive instead of reactive.
Finally, the author suggests trying to surround myself with positive people. This is good in theory, but you can’t pick your family. You can decide how you interact with them, however, and I tend to avoid the negative family members unless seeing them is necessary. I also try to be a positive person myself so as to attract like people.
Overall, for such a short book, there is lots of great advice. Margaret Brown’s book is well worth the listen. Jeff Moon, as narrator, did a great job. He was authoritative but also relatable, very pleasant to listen to. I recommend this book.

Disappointed
Thought this would be a book that offered tips on how to deal with others passive aggressive behavior but it's concentration is more of self help with individual self passive aggressions and coping skills for that. I needed tips to deal with others and feel this book didn't touch a lot on that.

Excellent choice
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
After reading/hearing this book I realized how I became passive aggressive because of how I was raised as a child. Learning that I was not in congruence with my feelings really put things in perspective. If you are passive aggressive and want to change but are stuck, this book will really help you. Also, if you know someone who is passive aggressive and is trying to change this book will help you to support them.
