About this listen

Kaiden Moore is on the run.

A fugitive in both real life and the game world of Nova Online, his only hope is to follow the trail of virtual breadcrumbs left behind by Bernstein, the man whose murder Kaiden was framed and jailed for.

The data Bernstein gathered may be the only way to expose the corruption of the Party and finally clear his name.

With a new ship and crew of their own, Kaiden, Titus and Zelda will travel to the furthest reaches of Nova Online and push their classes to the limit to defeat threats intended for players much higher level than them. Humanoid insects, veteran gamers, dark turen and even the Warden Corps stand in their way.

But freedom is worth fighting for.

I liked the week waiting period if you were killed in game, that would keep people from getting over powered. I want to know what is going to happen with Thorne. I will have to keep going to find out.

The story continues to be average, but still entertaining. Somehow Boyce's narration has gotten worse. Still worth the read.

Sound issues are even worse. Volume is all over the place and now they have added the blow out your eardrums side of things. See my comment from my review of the first book below.

"The sound engineering of both of the first books is just horrid, especially in regards to volume. The volume is all over the place, the one redeeming thing is at least it doesn't get so loud that it blows out your eardrums, though there are times you have to turn up the volume to max to actually hear the dialogue. (The second book has the same problem). It's not just me because all 200+ of my other audible titles don't have this problem. I am deciding if I want to get the 3rd book, if it has the same sound problems I will be seeking a refund."

Story continues apace, Sound issues continue.

To be honest, I wasn’t thrilled by Book 1, but after listening to Book 2 I’m definitely more excited for this series. Since this book is 2 or 3 times longer than the first, the author has more time to develop the world, both the virtual and the real one.

I like how we got more background on the main characters and more of the in-game world. The fights were also unique and I really enjoyed the space combat system. Can’t wait for Book 3!

This book is the kickstart that the series needed!
