Publisher's summary

A world he had sacrificed so much to create.

A realm his enemies would do anything to destroy.

Alex had done it. Ascending farther than anyone had thought possible, earning a title as sacred as the right to rule within the Golden Realms.

But there was no way his enemies would accept his ascension. Not after he had disrupted so many of their twisted plans.

Not even retreating to his own pocket realm while offering sanctuary to hundreds of desperate cultivators was enough to stop an invading army from doing all they could to find his world and claim it for themselves while destroying anyone and anything that stood in their way.

And that was a fate Alex refused to accept.

He would do whatever it took to keep his sanctuary safe and his people free.

Even if it meant facing down an entire army of elite cultivators determined to claim the bounty on his head!

The first 6 books are just the introduction to this one.

This book is pretty much the start of its own series. The first 6 books could be considered the prequel to this one. No more overly whiny and pitiful main character. If you have read Wheel Of Time, it’s like when Rand becomes “enlightened”. (This isn’t overly fair since the other books create the setting for this giant rollercoaster ride of a story)

Unpredictable Tragedies

I've always loved this series. the author does a great job with the cards of fate adding an element of unpredictability to the storyline. The tides of battle and the scales of fate can topple at any moment.

The only reason why I gave four stars for the performance was that the evil guys tend to all sound the same. It's an infuriatingly punchable voice, granted, but one that makes all the bad guys sort of blend together in my head.

That being said, I'm probably going to have "BULLRUSH!" echoing in my head for the next month, so thanks for that! ❤️

Easily The Best in Series Thus Far

This feels like the ending of a sequence in the series. It is absolutely epically done! Wayne Mitchell and Reba Buhr are excellent in their narration and M H Johnson writes as if the claws of fate were grasping for her pen! The clash between Alex and several protagonists comes to a major head of intense cultivation and thrilling combat on the battlefields of fate. I can’t wait for more!

Unbelievable good.

I have listened to hundreds of books in this genre. I put this up top of my list along with Cradle. At this point I wouldn’t be able to choose which is my favorite. M.H. Johnson if you read this, for the love of Waifu let that poor man get laid!

loved it

so in this book the first part is more about Alex training his skills an making his girls stronger . even if he has to use his enemies to toy with to make his weakness stronger. then after that it is battles after battle an as normal Alex just makes it through. .he also walks the golden steps again with his friends. Alex all gains some new allies. an he also gets some interesting breakthrough. other then that i have no complaints an cant wait to see what happens in the next book with the way this one ended. one issue between some chapters like 47 to 48 was a long pause i though my Bluetooth speakers batteries died an needed to be charged
