About this listen

Keith has died 12 times.

After making a deal with a mysterious immortal, he was sent to a new world in hopes of gaining the offered reward - a chance at a better life with his family. However, Keith failed to realize that this deal did not come with an expiration date, no matter how many times he died.

After dying for the dozenth time, Keith renegotiates with the immortal. This new deal will see him sent to the world of Raiah - a world filled with monsters, cowardly monkeys, and a system of magic very similar to the fantasy roleplaying games his brother used to enjoy.

Completing a quest to hunt the most dangerous monsters on the planet is the price Keith will need to pay to regain his old life. It’s a good thing that all of his experiences in his previous lives translate to Skills in this new one because if Keith fails this time, the price he will need to pay will be far steeper.

We Hunt Monsters is a crunchy LitRPG in an epic fantasy setting. Fans of Dakota Krout, Will Wight, and the Monster Hunter games will enjoy this new series by the best-selling author of the Rise to Omniscience and Buryoku series.

Excellent audiobook!

The narrator is great and highly entertaining! I was never bored and there wasn't any dull points for me. The story was wonderful and my only minor gripe was I wish there had been more monster descriptions! Definitely worth a buy and listen!

Breath of Fresh Air!

Not your average litrpg.
not the common sassy MC.
not the common OP MC. (it actually makes sense.)
the danger is ACCTUALLY dangerous and he actually almost dies.
the girl actually acts like a girl and the guy acts like a guy. that exchange where she hits him and he leaves her behind WAS SO REFRESHING IT WAS AWESOME!! it was the best part. it was so small compared to the whole book but it was so SOLID in their personalities. HE wasn't going to die. SHE wasn't going to be disrespected. but HE wasn't going to DIE. and ohhhhh...i loooove ittttt.....the deeper issues of the mind and how when you live that long you become numb and a different person and....ahhhh...its such a good story.

can't wait for book 2!

Another great story

Yet another great story by Aaron Oster. I Don't like starting series until they are a few books in, especially if they are written by an author I love, because I find myself wanting more when there is no more. I was, however, unable to hold myself back this time because I always love this author's stories.

A fantastic balance of gritty struggle and story

I love the realistic grittiness of the setting and the intertwining story that continues to grow. The tense fight scenes that are well described give the element of true combat. If you enjoy the grittines of a low level of play against impossible odds, then this is the story for you. From new beginn8ngs to getting on your feet with a whole world to get used to, this novel gives the ferling of wonder. I even got excited for Keith's rewards as if I were getting them myself. I can't wait to see what he has to face next, and what monsters we hunt next.

so hopefully I'm part of the 500

The book is good The story is pretty decent I like a lot The use of hammers is different not too many people use that it was only a few things that kind of bothered me the reader has a lisp and you could hear it in every character to a degree so it kind of takes you out of the story just a bit and the whole no cursing thing is pretty stupid if you're in a life or death situation you're not going to say all darn The good thing is this book has plenty of room to grow hopefully it gets a little bit more complex in the character building/effects of his class it would be great to have some fortress building for a main base or something like that but that's just an add-on if you want to take everything over the top but all in all good book very few things I complain about and the things I am complaining about are small

I have been a fan of the monster hunter series for over 15 years and have went thru over hundreds of litrpg titles. Now I find them both in one. looking forward to more.

definitely started different from the rest...

Meanwhile... spoiler alert..
.
.
.
.
. His guide gives this book the extra spice it needs. Though he may need a bop upside the head cause he is too much lol.
.
The MC: How can he see his family again, if he has been away for over 400 years? Is he in a time dilation... Is each yr one day? Will they reverse time and just send him back to where he snatched him from? I dont understand... How can they still be alive? Also, if the trickster brings his parents back.... will they be the undead? Or will they be alive and get killed off like the Ghost rider movie? Dude did not ask specific questions. What if this trickster already had his brothers live a good life... 400 yrs have passed and the thing says... well i kept my word didnt I?

Next, the chick the MC went on his mission with is meh. There's character there but not enough. She does look out for him in a pinch but other times I wonder about her. I definitely had a few moments when I was like "girl bye."

Im saying all of this to say, overall it was a good book lol.

solidly enjoyable

fun and fairly fast-paced, it has some good system explanations. There are a few weird aspects like many of the secondary characters act like actual npcs rather than people and its hard to tell how much of that is intentional.

think monster hunter and isekai mashed together. that'll give you a good understanding of this book.
