Understanding Myself

While listening to this I felt the same as when I first opened the Big Red Book…how does this person know me so well?!!
I am so grateful for people who understand us ACAs and can explain to us why we do what we do, when so often we feel lost or “crazy”. The section for the partner of an ACA helped me so much, because it gives me words to tell my partner what I need when I can’t verbalize it myself (Im the ACA).

ACOA Relationship Savior

As an ACOA whose had many failed relationships I found this book very insightful and helpful. This book explained complex feelings in a simple easy to understand format. This book is great for ACOA as well as their partners.

Very good read

I use this publication in several different aspects in my life in Al Anon and ACA . I have used in applied this principle in many ways in my recovery, and in working with others. This is a wonderful book a must read.

Excellent Read (Listen)

I couldn't wait to keep listening. This book is a short read with the perfect amount of information for not just "COA's" but everyone else in this world. All can benefit from listening to this!
She has a second book out which goes in to even more detailed explanations, which is great as well.

Read multiple times and taken in slow portions

So helpful for growth and looking at challenges in so many ways. I have listened to many many times and take things in each time.

Another good one

Just like her prior book Adult Children of Alcoholics, this is an insightful book, although, once again, it lacks solutions to the problems.

interesting

I found some very interesting things in there that I found out about myself that I did not know. I realized that because I was an adult child of an alcoholic I was pretty much a doormat. I will work on that!
