Story
When Kers is reborn as a dungeon core, he finds himself stuck in the most improbable of places: a cloud. High in the sky and far away from the usual solid resources, Kers must face the obvious question: How is a dungeon to build itself without wood or stone? Luckily, Kers has the sarcastic (and sometimes helpful) fairy Selena to help him get his bearings. Together, the pair delight in exploring Kers’ weird existence, creating novel mobs, and enticing adventures to plumb the lofty heights of his floors.

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

Ashlock wakes in the courtyard of a demonic sect... as a tree. A tree that eats people. An odd start to a new life. Almost as strange as the humans flying through the skies on flaming swords and challenging the heavens. After all, this is a world where humans could chase the goal of immortality through the art of cultivation. But Ashlock is merely a sapling in a desolate courtyard, left alone with his thoughts and unable to speak to those passing him by. Unless he does something about it.

Pete is a simple man who enjoys a good drink amongst good friends. Not too much to ask, right? Now, he's trapped in a fantasy world far from home, stuck underground and inside the body of a smelly dwarf with fantastic facial hair. The worst part? The swill that the dwarves are falling all over themselves to drink. It's flat, it's watery, and it has the alcohol content of a rancid coconut. Can Pete save the dwarves from their own sour fate, or will he be forever doomed to plink his pickaxe away in hopes that he hits the motherlode?

Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic. The academy is a dangerous place; the tournaments held twice each year can cripple or kill the students, and the clans of the empire will go to great lengths to recruit the students they want. Gregory had one dream: to become a magi like the legends of old. Though he was ridiculed by the residents of the village and his unsupportive father, he never wavered from his dream.

Publisher's summary
Qube was designed to die....
As the cheerful childhood NPC companion who helps the [Player] learn the world during the start of the game, it was only natural that the big bad would kill her at the end of the tutorial, kick-starting the [Player] on a quest for vengeance.
The only thing is, no one told her that.... And this particular [Player] doesn’t like to play by the rules. Being a chaos-loving gremlin, he glitches her out of her programming loop and drags her on various adventures. They'll grapple with friendly sharktopuses, evil emperors, and what it means to be a person.
On the way, they pick up equally unlikely party members, with Qube breaking the world in increasingly strange ways as she seeks to be the very best companion ever.
All the while, Qube herself slowly realizes that her reality is not quite what it seems....
Experience the start of a GameLit/LitRPG series about an NPC freed of its programming loop and brought along on a player's journey of adventure and power progression. A loving parody of old-school games, Dungeons and Dragons, and every player who has ever thought, “What happens if I do this?”

Story
Long before Amy Gumm got swept away from a Kansas trailer park...Dorothy Gale received a package on the night of her 16th birthday: a pair of red high-heeled shoes. "Dear Dorothy," the note read. "I thought about silver to match the ones you lost, but in the end I decided that red was more your color. I think you know what to do with them."

My favorite audiobook!
I loved listening to every second of this book! The author is so clever in how they reveal information about the world to the reader while leaving the other characters so confused by everything the Chosen One does. The narrators do a fantastic job, giving such life to the different characters and I am especially impressed by the sound effects (like Sewer Bard's guitar). I will be relistening to this book until the sequel is released!

Great narration for an above average story
The narration in the story is top tier. In particular, Annie Ellicot knocked it out of the park with Qube.
The story suffered at times with the chosen ones antics. Because the story follows an NPC's perspective towards a player, it makes sense that the pacing could be irregular. But the disruption necessitated breaking up my listening to shorter sessions.

A very good first book
The Chosen One by Tevagah is a very good first novel for a new published author. If you like the early works of Craig Shaw Gardner you will definitely like this.
While as with any new author, there are a few rough spots but overall this is a very fun and appealing story. I look forward to future stories.
The narrators as always do a superb job and breathe added life to this tale.

So Funny
I totally loved this book. I had a stupid grin on my face the entire time I was listening to it. It was just so amusing to listen to an intelligent game character trying to reason out why the world around her worked in such weird ways, and why the chosen one kept ignoring people while looting their homes. It was just too funny. I can't wait to continue with the next book. Qube is just too cute.

Excellent LitRPG story told from the inside
Great narration.
Excellent story. Follow Cube as she struggles to keep the prophecy approved champion in line and keep him from poisoning himself (time after time).
See LitRPG from the prospective of a NPC.

Yes.
At times, the constant disregard of setting was frustrating, but eventually I realized that was kinda the point, so it stopped bothering me.

best in 775 audiobooks i own.
i hope that story does not lose fun tones.
AI exictential dramas/tragedis are interesting, but that horse is long dead and beaten to mincemeat.
There are not many positive books in that category. i hope these series will be one of the few.

Hilarious and Intriguing
Starting off strong, the story catches you into a hilarious story and slowly peels back to reveal the existential crisis beneath!
With the always splendid performance of Sound Booth Theater and a charming cast of glitches accompanied by the Chaos Gremlin himself, I can't wait for the next one!

Fun Situational Comedy
If you like situational comedy and have a passing knowledge of video games, this book is for you! I've read it twice now, and loved every minute of it. It's so fun to read/listen to a story from the npc's perspective! The narration is also well done- the narrators are expressive without being annoying to listen to, and inject so much life into the characters.
A few things I really liked: the ridiculous side character names, the way Qube rationalizes every insane thing the Chosen One does, and the way this book conveys a believable male/female friendship without any overtones of eventual romance. That's so rare! I'm really looking forward to the sequel.

Soundbooth brought it as always!
The story is a unique spin on the genre. I’d have to say not my personal taste but I could see how others may enjoy.
