War has come to the Azure-Jade Empire.
With the emperor slain and the Azure Dragon vanished, the demonic forces have returned, overwhelming the empire on all fronts. Amidst the chaos, only one path remains to stop Yang Shen’s ascent: Lu Jie must journey to the Cradle of Dragons and seek the Azure Dragon, harnessing the power of not one, but two Divine Beasts.
As war ravages the land, Lu Jie must rapidly master his abilities, growing in strength while navigating the immense pressure resting on his shoulders. The empire teeters on the brink, its fate seemingly bound to him. The path to victory is perilous, but retreat is not an option.
The fate of the heavens now lies in the balance. It’s do or die.
Book four of an epic Xianxia cultivation series perfect for fans of Beware of Chicken and Cradle. The series features weak-to-strong power progression, a light scientific approach to magic, tons of alchemy, spirit beast companions, and so much more.

Good - the story for the first couple of books was enjoyable.
Not so good - there are some issues that started to break immersion for me as they accumulated:
The premise of the first couple of books seemed to be grounded in bringing science to a cultivation world (which was actually interesting). Apart from a couple of “lectures” on physics and chemistry that don’t really do much other than magically unlock superpowers that plot doesn’t go very far. The MC is also able to jump from writing some books on science to his society suddenly having enough of an industrial base for manufacture enough guns for every citizen and the go straight to airplanes.
The power curve is also a bit unbelievable - Will wight took 10+ books for a nobody to develop god like powers with believable progression the whole way. This series goes from nobody to god like in about two books.
There is also a bit of an issue with lack of proofreading or editing (even down to apparent typos which the narrator faithfully tries to pronounce). Minor issues like using the wrong word that sounds similar to the one likely intended due to the meaning making more sense or using the same word two or three times in a sentence are ok at low frequency but it happens enough to be noticeable.
Increasingly disjointed
