This is a continuation of the first book, starting exactly where the first book left off. It is every bit as good, of not better. So, you know what to do.

More of the Same - and That's a Good Thing

story is fantastic, funny, and as enough serious entry to keep you locked in and going. I can't tell you how many times I've laughed out loud to myself while listening to this.

I can't wait for the next book!

Thank you for including Mongolia and their rather famous group. As the husband of a Mongolian please note it is pronounced like the English ‘who’ I love this narrator thank you for all your works .

On the one hand it was entertaining and the humor, while not laugh out loud funny, is still pretty good, and the narration is expertly paired with the tone of the novel. On the other hand, there is very little plot or character development in this. It’s almost like the author cops out and just avoids the leveling and development aspect of the book for the whole second half.

I feel like Howry should have spent more time on story writing and less on mildly amusing one-liners and humorous situations. Because if you compare this book to the first one, in this book very little of consequence actually happens to move the plot, advance the characters or broaden the world/universe.

That said, I did find it engaging and entertaining and I will absolutely pick up the next installment. I just hope that Mr. Howry balances book 3 a bit better and we get some real adventure and excitement.

I’m struggling with how to rate this book...

This story is weird. It’s disjointed, and sort of clumsily written, and sort of half-baked in its plot points. However! Jonathan McClain, the narrator, is so fantastic that I enjoyed listening to this series twice now. He turns the weird dialogue and scenes into really immersive vignettes of humanity and comedy, and I’m all about it.

Check it out! This series is still well worth your credits, even with its shortcomings.

Narrator is a Treasure of Humanity

The clarity with which McClain paints the scenes kept me so immersed I missed several exits on the turnpike but it was okay since I had more time to enjoy the story.

Pairs delightfully with the first book.

I have been going through all the lit RPG I can get my hands on I've been through a few hundred and this is probably one of my favorite irreverent and funny but also serious ones that I have come across it's just great and keeps getting better

so great
