A Renaissance of Dismissed and Forgotten Principle

The culture of 2022 seems to have lost its true potential through instant gratification and selfishness. Ryan reminds us of classical truths and principles that will help guide us back towards cultural decency. This book belongs in the top shelf of everyone's library.

Excellence in any arena

Excellence is excellence in any arena- become you’re personal best in whatever you pursue. Ryan spells this out wonderfully using prime examples of those who pursued and modeled excellence in their field.
Should inspire all readers to take advantage of each day and implement tactics and habits that will help them achieve excellence in their own life.

I expected to much

I ended up returning it. And I don't do that often. I'm not a learning leader podcast listener, but I did listen to "welcome to management". I found that book helpful, but this book felt very disjointed. It was literally like he wrote it 100 words at a time (as he said) and didn't have a real vision for a singular through line. Basically this book is "tiny notes from interviews". That would have been a better title. I hate to say it, but I'm also not a fan of his narration, it's like listening to a radio DJ. This book would be better if he had longer stories that built to something more profound. I just didn't see it going anywhere. Didn't want to waste even more time.
