Publisher's summary

When Zettour tries his best to caution against the reckless plan to strike at the Federation’s vital resource fields, he soon finds himself “promoted” to a field deployment on the eastern front. Meanwhile, as the ill-advised Operation Andromeda presses on, commanding officer Tanya must fight another bitter battle despite dwindling supplies, poor communication, and exposed flanks. Voice Action could've been better.

The story is superb, as is usual for the series. However, I feel as though the Voice direction and editing were sloppy and all over the place. It feels rushed and disjointed. The Narrator herself I know to be exemplary, which is why I am so shocked at such a messy final product.

The Eastern Front

Tanya has had to endure fighting overwhelming numbers in the East and now they’re also growing in quality. It shows desperation to take genius action to overcome such large scale warfare.

Poor Narration/Direction

Narrator is a tiny bit better as she no longer voices the adjutant as san half the time but still is wildly inconsistent in her voice… sometimes giving her a British accent. Speaking of accents, I don’t know while she decided to give multiple Empire officers (who are nominally German) heavy Russian accent (unnamed B group HQ officer and Colonel Unger). In one conversation she voices something Zettour says in Tanya voice which was confusing. Ironically when not using accents narrator lacks range in differentiating characters as her voice for Zettour and Weiss are extremely similar)

Love it but.. again nothing happens

Love the setting of the book, the world building is incredible but the story needs to progress. I feel like fundamentally we are still at the same situation as the last 3 books.

Good story but could really use come Qulity Control

I'm not sure if this was always a problem, but if it was it was never this noticeable. Several character voices kept changing, it was especially funny and noticeable with Serebryakov a main character whose accent changed 5 times the whole story, it's just sort of confusing the story really could have used somone second checking it to make sure the voices where consistant. The story it's self was as great as ever despite the odd narration.

Good, but the first part of the book spends too much on time On irrelevant. side characters.

Really Good overall, just like the first third of the book is kind of filled with an unnecessary point of view from a federation embedded photographer, which adds nothing to the story. Feels a lot like filler.

Awful job from the reader

I didn’t love the first effort from this reader, which was the last book, but it was tolerable. This was not tolerable. Characters changed their voices and accents halfway through the book. That is a no go and evidence that the reader didn’t take this as serious work. This was a hack job. I regret my preorder of the next book and will be pursuing a refund or at least satisfaction.
