Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic. The academy is a dangerous place; the tournaments held twice each year can cripple or kill the students, and the clans of the empire will go to great lengths to recruit the students they want. Publisher's summary
So... back for more?
Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Going from a no-good Neet to a magician with a magic book doesn't happen to everyone. And I doubt it'll happen to you, but that doesn't mean you can't continue to enjoy this guide, this tale of mine. And I can assure you that things only get more interesting, much to my surprise at the time. More magic, mayhem, and of course, Bob.
As usual, life continues to throw jabs at me and even a few uppercuts, sending me spiraling into further insanity and trouble. By now, I'm getting used to it, and the push forward continues. As my training with Bob continues, and my relationships develop, those from near and afar make their moves. Pieces on the chessboard all looking for a checkmate, and whether I like it or not, I'll find myself at the center. Adversity, adventure, and more action than I would have liked at the time. Prepare to learn more about how I, a former full-time Neet, became a god.

Story
I never really expected to go from full-time Neet to a God, but you know how life hits, right? Well, it doesn't really matter in the end. What matters is how I got there. You know how I said this ain't that type of guide? Well, maybe it can be. Maybe you'll figure some things out along the way—who knows? Actually I do, and you probably won't, but who cares, right? So take a seat in your mother's basement ,or whatever hole you live in, and listen to the story of how I, a full-time Neet, became a God.

Luke was your typical nine-to-five office drone when he was killed in a head-on car collision during his morning commute. Instead of going to heaven, Luke's soul is brought to a hellish realm on the verge of total destruction, where two supernatural beings soon engage in brutal combat. Story
After quitting her job as a therapist, Tess's life became pretty slow. A tad boring, even. It thus came as no small shock to her when she was chosen by a god. Suddenly thrust into a new world where magic, monsters, and character levels are par for the course, Tess will find that simply surviving can be a challenge. It doesn't help that dark forces are stirring, she's woefully underpowered, and spiders keep trying to claw her face off.

Story
Hannah has a routine. Wake up, take a shower, go to school, go to work, come home, and pass out. It's a perfectly normal routine for a perfectly normal girl who does not have to remember how her limbs work every morning because of haunting nightmares of being a very different creature in a very different world. That's all she thinks they are—nightmares—until one night, they're all too lucid, and her body on Earth starts to change. Slowly, Hannah's humanity starts to slip away... but surely she can continue just sticking to the routine, right? It'll be fine. It has to be.

That changes when a rebel assassin stalks Slip, eager to unlock the untapped potential hidden deep within him—his unique connection to the A.I. in his head. This power is incredible, but difficult to master. If he's going to learn how to use his natural magic, it'll take the tutelage of Archmage Diamondspear, one of the most adept magic users in the kingdom.

The Intergalactic Imperium used their right of Eminent Domain to appropriate the planet to build a goddamned highway… and all Jonx got was a sarcastic AI and some superpowers. When my girlfriend’s dad chased me out of her bedroom that Saturday evening, I never expected to end up transported to a world based on some sort of RPG System. But I guess that’s what happens when you're focused on avoiding the business end of a baseball bat and not paying attention to where you’re running. To make matters worse, I managed to get myself indentured to some sort of dungeon god. That’ll teach me to not read the fine print. The job had some great perks though: an epic class, magic powers, and a smoking hot succubus that couldn’t get enough of me.

"Kill. Kill them all." It's the first four words Lars usually wakes up to every morning, a voice telling him she's just giving him a "quest" that will help him "level". But even if he wanted to do it, he can't. They're cultivators: beings with ancestral bloodlines that have powers he could only dream of, while he is stuck as a puny human. Even if he could kill them, the people who bullied him, beat him, treated him like a punch-bag pariah for being a "tailless worthless human", he wouldn't. That is, until a vicious group of murderous psychopaths called a "sect" descend on his village.

I was entertained. I don’t think most people will regret the purchase.
Kind of a slow build up to the end, but there’s a lot going on at the end to the point that it was a little rushed. No explicit sex scenes which would’ve taken away from the story imo. The book was less than 10+ hours. I’m curious what might happen next but at the same time I’m not sure if I want to continue the series. I kind of got the feeling. The next one might just be a rinse and repeat of the same scenarios that have already happened so far. There is a lot of the plot still open but a lot of the same things described in the last book are repeated over and over this one. I guess the word I’ve been trying to avoid is filler a lot of filler was in this book. It was done artfully and enjoyably, but still filler.

Cannot wait for more
I am loving this series I am enjoying this every step of the way. Yes, it’s a Harem but it’s not focusing on the sexual parts more innuendo which I like so more on the story and what's happening so much more for him to do just starting to get into it all. Wish a Book like that would fall into my lap!! Bob has his own unique attitude a sassy sidekick that understands when to be serious. an awesome pocket dimension also jealous of that would love one of those too. he must have a great luck stat that's for sure!! but all great MC must have a great luck stat; or great survivability. Love that he is well rounded and in the second book ending I think he chose well. I don’t want to spoil anything but This is why I am excited the most to see if his abilities can grow more cause his form was said to hold him back.
I have listened on audible and the narrator does a great job as well with the voices. I cannot wait to see where the author brings him next or what troubles he gets into or even what worlds he goes to and why earth is called prime.

The Storyline
I like the plot of the series and how this build is a little slower than others are. It just feels like there could’ve been more in this book, progression-wise. It’s good, I like it; it could just use some more development each book.

A lot of plot points!!!
Whew!! That was an adventure. A lot of plot at the end which was hard to keep track of. We had the demon, an ender, the underworld leaders, Wolfpack and witches to name a few. Much of these plot points were left unfinished for now, but I’m hoping the next book will wrap some things up. That said it was very entertaining and there was definitely some character growth. I’m looking forward to the next book! Narrator really brings it together, give this series a chance.

A bit more world building and a lot more plot
Simply put, I will rage if this series is left incomplete. Lazyfantasist has created a web of interlocking stories, mixed with prophecy and omens that keep the listener guessing as to how the stories will end. I believe the theme of this part is the development of Richard’s body, or strength/power. It was a great showcase of the vast capabilities magic has, as if I was diving into a world of a fantasy video game based in reality.
