About this listen

Love can make monsters of us all. Some monsters are just more dangerous than others….

Torga, the man once known as “The Devourer,” survived the destruction of his own universe by the skin of his teeth. Now he's faced with an even more terrifying ordeal: rebuilding that universe from scratch.

At least he's not alone this time around. He’s saved his dear wife, Reina, by granting her the unparalleled abilities of a goddess, but he’s also painted an enormous target on her back in the process. Now, beings from across the multiverse want to take her newfound power for themselves, and they'll do anything and everything to get it. Torga has more to lose than ever before. The very existence of their universe hangs in the balance....

It's time for The Devourer to bare his fangs once again.

I love the story and the new narrator. Though I have a few minor complaints. I found the new narrater a bit jarring though that is to be expected. As for the story it was well thought out though I would like to see more of Torga in his god form. Other than that (in my unprofessional opinion) it’s a fine addition. I will be impatiently awaiting the next installment.

A few notes

I made it to about chapter 8 and decided not to finish. I have a hard time with narrators changing in general, however the entire genre and plot changed as well. I could see this being an independent series by just changing a few names. I would have preferred that to be honest. additionally the amount of recap is pretty heavy. you could honestly start the series with this book. I believe it even explained how the MC was a snake which I hope people have realized by the time they reach book 4.

probably a fine story as a standalone but it's not the continuation of the series I was hoping for.

Feels like a different story.

This is a very nice series and I personally have liked every book so far and I am looking forward to the next one!

A Good Book Series

There is barely anything remaining from the previous books. I still like it, but this many books in and the previous books no longer hold an important plot other than having happened.

It’s good

Basically, the story had a dramatic change in direction. It went from an adventure novel to a civilization building book the change in narrator kind of sucked. I can’t really tell the difference between characters by their voices, which means I have to pay more attention to win. He says, x character speaking.

Overall, it’s not a bad story. It is a huge shift from the original focus of the books in the narrator is not as good as Travis

While the narrator did keep me interested the entire book, the range of characters he can provide is too limited for this story. The male characters where fine but he was unable to perform the female parts adequately enough to disassociate them from the male voices. The story itself was a great buildup for the next phase of the MC’s life. If a female narrator was to be added to accompany the female characters. This would be a 5/5 hands down. I do miss travis and the depth of emotion he can portray, but i look forward to what BJ can bring to this story. He just needs someone to fill the female rolls.

It is with great disappointment i leave this review.

Wasnt what i was expecting but it was good enough i guess. The new narrator did a fantastic job.

Good Enough

Once you get used to the new voice. Actually pretty good. Voice differentiation doesn’t quite kick in intill the end of the first run of the book but the second helps so much more and makes it easier to enjoy. Just so used to travis you gotta take the time to change over

First off let me say I have both read and listened to all of the Snakes life series, I love all of them. This is however the first time I disliked the narration. Travis has always made it clear I. His voice Torgas mind set, he is a monster, he is a bad ass and he is gluttony. This other Narrator did not capture that at all. I hope that things follow this new thread though I wish some of the missing tidbits from the previous books would also be completed.

Overall a good listen, just not what I was prepared for.

I enjoyed books 1-3, the story, narrator and plot was top notch.
Book 4, lost me cause it felt like a completely different story, narrator although good, was flat and left me wanting. Could not tell the characters apart. I just couldn’t finish this one, sorry
