Great must read

30 chapters in and story progression is about 1%. Like, I get it’s good to know what is going on at MC’s head, but it’s painful to hear it over and over again. The story progression is soooooo slow I accidentally played it for an hour in my pocket and guess what? Nothing even happened. I am interested about what happened next. I’ll finish this book and going to get the next one, but for now it’s for sure a step back from the first one.

Had to take a break from internal monologue. I’ll get back to it at some point.

Compared to the first it filled a lot of the back story and made more world building efforts. Now if the next book in the series does the same thing I'll be upset, but so far it wasn't bad. There was some moments that felt drawn out, but it seemed to be pointing out character growth.

tbh not the best but better than the reviews say

This book was just as good as the first one. as long as you go into it knowing it will spend most of the book on a single level, with Xavier getting stronger, you'll be fine. great addition!

My previous review on book 1 involved a warning ‼️ because of the time it took to get into the book before getting good. However, it got better in book one and continued to be good in this book.

My only problem with this is book besides previously stated grievances is that this just feels like a damn speed run. That’s fine it just felt like things were rushed along to get through all this. With a massive power creep leaving 99.8% of everyone else on earth as NPC never gonna matter and can’t change crap.

Maybe I am wrong. I do so hope I am. I will keep reading but I am sad to think this is completely a one man whole show nothing else will ever matter kind of book.

*ps MC is also still insufferable at times and acts like a child.

Still good for what feels like a speed run with TERRIBLE power creep.

Loved the plot and thought there were some wonderful ideas.

Can’t stand the way this is written where MC will be a second or two from death and the author takes pages to describe what happens. Also, the MC needs to be tough! Why is his internal monologue always complaining and almost giving up. He’s supposed to be a CHAMPION, not a neckbeard loser.

Good story, shit writing

for some reason I believe it is the author's point of the entire series. initiation at its finest

good yet dragged out

Everything else aside from Xavier and how powerful he is or is becoming just falls to the wayside. Talk with teammates? Oh you mean spare them a few sentences before they go back to talking about how great Xavier is. As for Xavier himselfc I can definitely see his power and importance going to his head in an almost eye-rolling manner. while his heart is in the right place, it comes off as insufferable when he internal monologues about all the powerful entities watching him as if he's some destined great one. I really want to see some humble pie getting fed, but I don't see how anyone can since is at his relatives level with the amount of stats/titles. He'd have to fight someone a grade over him to be challenged.

The lack of peers is what made this book drag on for me. While I like the system and mechanics, things like side-characters and the interesting fantasy lands just get washed away to the wayside because they're not important to the overarching goal Xavier. So, Book 2 is really just a speed-leveling and then speed-running transition to later books. I hope to see more character building next book, and some focus on something that isn't his monolgues. There are some books that do this great, and know when to bribe breaks from the MC, this isn't kne of them, but it still can develop to be there.

It's fast pace with a power creep

It's a good story, but man does this MC waffle endlessly about the most surface level things for minutes on end and it just puts the story on hold every few minutes. Like it's trying to make him seem deep, but it's all super shallow stuff. Like he literally ask himself "i wonder if this super obvious thing is super obvious? (thinks about it for 5 min worth of listening) I guess we will see!" constantly, and he wants to be a "hero", but why? He has no actual drive other than "I want to be a hero and save people". Just real shallow introspection. Also, he's never has an original thought. Random example, he really needs to get to e grade and can LITERALLY MIND CONTROL HIS SENTIENT E GRADE ENEMIES... and he dosent think to make them tell him? Like he doesn't even think about it or try and fail. He just has no personality, his reaction to literally everything is "Whaaat?!?!?" and/or just repeating what other people say as a question. I guess I'm just butthurt that it's great but the MC is sooo boring

good story, it ticks all the boxes! But..

however, it should significantly improve in the next book, I read story on RR and was curious as to how he was going to break it up for books. still pretty good!

it does seem a little bogged down
