Great must read

30 chapters in and story progression is about 1%. Like, I get it’s good to know what is going on at MC’s head, but it’s painful to hear it over and over again. The story progression is soooooo slow I accidentally played it for an hour in my pocket and guess what? Nothing even happened. I am interested about what happened next. I’ll finish this book and going to get the next one, but for now it’s for sure a step back from the first one.

Had to take a break from internal monologue. I’ll get back to it at some point.

for some reason I believe it is the author's point of the entire series. initiation at its finest

good yet dragged out

Loved the plot and thought there were some wonderful ideas.

Can’t stand the way this is written where MC will be a second or two from death and the author takes pages to describe what happens. Also, the MC needs to be tough! Why is his internal monologue always complaining and almost giving up. He’s supposed to be a CHAMPION, not a neckbeard loser.

Good story, shit writing

Compared to the first it filled a lot of the back story and made more world building efforts. Now if the next book in the series does the same thing I'll be upset, but so far it wasn't bad. There was some moments that felt drawn out, but it seemed to be pointing out character growth.

tbh not the best but better than the reviews say

This book was just as good as the first one. as long as you go into it knowing it will spend most of the book on a single level, with Xavier getting stronger, you'll be fine. great addition!

My previous review on book 1 involved a warning ‼️ because of the time it took to get into the book before getting good. However, it got better in book one and continued to be good in this book.

My only problem with this is book besides previously stated grievances is that this just feels like a damn speed run. That’s fine it just felt like things were rushed along to get through all this. With a massive power creep leaving 99.8% of everyone else on earth as NPC never gonna matter and can’t change crap.

Maybe I am wrong. I do so hope I am. I will keep reading but I am sad to think this is completely a one man whole show nothing else will ever matter kind of book.

*ps MC is also still insufferable at times and acts like a child.

Still good for what feels like a speed run with TERRIBLE power creep.

This book goes the path of a lot of progression fantasy and slows down a little bit to consolidate gains and flesh out the universe more there’s more character development, scope and motivation overall definitely worth the read

Good sequel

Do the thing instead of talking about the infinite permutations of the thing. it is jarring and breaks immersion when a character goes on an internal mo cologne distribution in the middle of fights or agonizes about literally every decision. There's absolutely no need to discuss all the items/skills they didn't take. Entire chapters on gear that he never chooses.

Too much "talk no jutsu"

This installment was pretty good. I didn't like it as much as the first, but I'll still get the next book. I can tell it getting ready to hit its stride after this. I feel like he stretched the tower part a bit much. I enjoyed it regardless.
