About this listen

Betrayed. Murdered. Reborn. One last chance, to make it right.

Theo's adventure ended with his mentor's hands around his neck. The betrayal cost him his friends, allies, and everything he had built...but not his life. Though broken and powerless, Theo has one last chance to enter the Nine Worlds, wielding the knowledge and expertise of his first life. This time, he needs more than just power, he needs to unravel the deception that killed him once...and is coming for him again.

Theo has discovered an incredible opportunity to advance, but it stands on the other side of a fatal obstacle. Faced with a duel to the death against an overwhelming opponent, he has no choice but to seek allies in a new world. Time is running out, so he'll need to soulcraft like he never has before....

I look forward to the next one

I only listen to the audiobooks so I know more of the story is out there and I can’t wait for it to be released in audiobook format.

Best so far

Feels like Sarah Lin really hit her stride in this book. The characters are more believable, and likeable, the world expands, really good addition.

Great progress for our characters

I liked the increased pacing of progression in this instance of the book. I won’t spoil any plot points, but I do think there was an improvement from the last one.

Short, but good progression

Fantastic world building, good adventure, and likable characters. The characters could use a bit more depth, but still quality entertainment.

More please.

If you're here considering if you should continue the journey after books one and two, you're a sporpin sporp. The books fun and worth it. I hope we don't have to wait another six months for the next Audiobook.

Sarah Lin is as amazing as ever and Travis Baldree never disappoints.

Where the series hits its stride

I've reviewed the previous books in the series but never given one all five stars. This is the book where that changes. After the slightly awkward first book and the short second, in the third Weirkey Chronicles really hits its stride. Not every book has a big central fight like this, but imo it's all uphill from here.

In this one Theo finally gets his most awesome ability. We get to see Fiyu's world with some great character development. The cast settles into a world instead of jumping around. House Blacksilver and some other elements that will prove to be really interesting later get introduced. Love him or hate him, Tythes shows up.

I could go on but you already get the idea. On basically every front, the series sheds any awkward beginnings (and for those who hate Senka, you only have to wait one more book). Travis is still the GOAT of course. These heights are the reason why I'm willing to spend credits on such short books.

this Old House for the Soul

I enjoyed the first two books in this series very much and have to say this one is the best so far. Our three main characters begin their adventures on a third of the Nine Worlds and Theo quickly finds himself soulcrafting for his very life as he prepares for a high-stakes duel. We get to see more of the new world and even take a side trip to Fiyu's world as Theo works to live long enough to try to someday defeat the first enemy who killed him. Good pacing and a really enjoyable story.

Travis Baldree is the voice of a number of my favorite series... and the Weirkey Chronicles has joined that group. He does a beautiful job at differentiating characters and is able to give the prose exactly the humor or tension it needs. Thanks to him I found Cradle, A Thousand Li, Beware of Chicken, and now the Weirkey Chronicles. I owe Travis a lot for the listening pleasure and introduction to these wonderful series.

Great story of the Weirkey Traveler

I am glad to say I have to rep the author.
Lin has some good books out.
She makes a good enjoyable read.

I do more audible these days than kindle, and…
As always Baldree takes a good read and turns it into a great listen.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

Excellent continuation of the series. Can't wait for book 4!

Wonderful narration, great direction for character growth while showing off each character's strengths, very sly introduction of a sure-to-be important new character.
