About this listen

The Game Is Nearing the End!

His life hanging by a thread, will Charles manage to once again dodge the bullet?

And if he does pull off a miracle, how will he go about stopping the Storm of Souls which is rumored to spell the end for all?

The story of Charles Morris and the Empire of Tine is about to come to an end, one way or another. The question is: will it be in joy and victory, with Charles and his allies on top, or will it be in tears and defeat, with Logan claiming yet another round?

To me it was a great way to wrap up this story and setup potential for a few spinoffs but also loved the authors ways of putting things into perspective.

A great conclusion

Have been listening to this series back to back. Overall, great. My only critique: Not a big fan of the Joanna portion of the story. Feels forced? Not sure exactly.

Great, Fun, Interesting

Few sieries manage to keep me hooked till the end and this one did. the mc ain't no fighter but brought the endgame none the less. The sieries changed my mind on how a fantasy/litrpg could play out with the mc bieng a businessman who actuly doesn't fight. Great series, Great narration and an Awsome author. thank you

a true final installment, if it is that is?

good ending to a long journey

The first few books in the series were really one dimensional and only the premise of the series was what kept me going.

This book and book 7 really fleshed out the characters and actually added some depth to the characters and world that were missing from the series. I really enjoyed it.

It sounds like there is a setup for a continuation of the series or a spin off from it. With the improvement of the overall quality of writing and story telling, that is something I would be interested in reading.

A good way to tie up the series.

While there may be more books to come in the series, round 1 of the game clearly ends here in book 8. The characters, new and old, are great and the secrets of this world, its gods, and how the rules function are revealed in detail. Anyone who loves the Sid Myers Civilizations games will see as close to a 1:1 similarity as is possible for a book series. I appreciate the main characters logic walk throughs as city building and researching decisions are made and the detailed attention to influencing factors like culture and borders. I'm not sure I've found a book that ties up every loose end as clearly as CivCEO8. An extended epilogues with many chapters is dedicated to ensuring each character gets their final story wrapped up. Overall, well done.

Not a single loose end
