This is definitely worth the listen. It has some great practical tips on how to actively improve your thinking. From what S.M.A.R.T. goals are and how to set them, to actively working on the weak points we all have in our personalities. I can appreciate the real-world examples. I would have like to hear more about using CBT around limiting beliefs outside of a clinical setting because I think there's potential for application in varying aspects of life. I find with listening to books, I need to put it on 2x speed to stay actively engaged. All in all, this was a great introduction to CBT and it's spurred me to pick up more books on it.

Highly recommend

The tutor was very easy to listen to and I particularly liked the stories of the three case studies, hearing them in person and seeing them benefit from their homework assignments was very useful. I've got a notebook app on my phone and I found it useful to jot down ideas for my own 'toolbox'.

I've listen and practiced CBT , REBT techniques outlined by guys like for years. This book has been added to my resources on this subject. He covers the gamut of CBT and, most importantly, adds new material from research that has been conducted since the originators of this very effective therapy ( mindfulness for example). Written in a down to earth style so very layman friendly. If you use CBT or want to get a fine introduction, and then some.... .

Excellent CBT presentation,

It was great listening to the author. At the time of listening I was overwhelmed by the amount of repetitive work within the house and children and general life. I was enjoying and looking forward to listening to the book while doing some task and it is amazing how when your shift you focus the weight is lifted.

The sheer amount of content you get in this audiobook is astounding, and the real-life examples (actual recording from therapy sessions) is priceless to help you understand CBT.

It is a series of several lectures with some case studies thrown in. I thought the narration was far too slow and the case studies, although interesting in part, were also too slow. You could almost hear the patient's brain thinking about the answers and there were those long therapeutic silences too.
