About this listen

Montana Coggeshall, duke of Coggeshall, defeater of dungeons, he of far fewer intelligence points than is probably recommended, is finally ready to start building his dukedom. He just needs one more thing before he can leave Osterstadt: a few hardworking friends to join him on this adventure.

Well, and some lumber. And nails and whatnot. And enough food to get through the winter. And probably some more gold.

All Montana needs before he can leave Osterstadt are some friends, some building materials, food, and money.

But he did promise to retrieve some magic texts from a cemetery for Emmeline. And he really should try to help the lost little boy who keeps following him around. And all the undead in that basement crypt aren't going to re-kill themselves.

Maybe Montana's taken on a few too many side quests.

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Amazing series

I love this series but.... I must say to be fair how come every LitRPG series has to make the hero so unbelievably stupid. It’s one thing to be naive or overly trustful but this guy would forget to breathe if Nikolai didn’t remind him.
It makes it hard to like someone on the low end of a 70 IQ who never learns .

Fantastic series.

What a great writer for this type of story. The best I have read. But I have not read a lot of LiTRPG books. Maybe 3 series. And this is the best of the three. And it is consitently good - each book is great.

sure it's silly but I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to the series.

a complete power fantasy litrpg that's been more enjoyable than many of my favorite "proper" books. I've definitely paid for books in a series I enjoyed less and yet everything besides the second book in the series is free.

I have enjoyed the earlier books for this series, but I'm getting to the point were I'm having trouble enjoying it anymore. He is just too foolish for my taste..

Huh? Cool!

Lots of fun, great excitement and characters. And it ends pretty cool, no spoilers of course. But definitely curious what it means.

1 bad thing.

The Good & Bad Guy series, both characters act the same, with the same sense of humor, quirks, speech patterns & ways of doing things: they just have different power sets/classes, friends, locations, ect.

How Many Mistakes Can One Man Make?

Montana is back. He's escaped from the dungeon and now he is finally ready to leave the city and go establish his duchy—except that he keeps getting pulled back into the city where lots of people don't like him and everyone seems to want to see him dead. And he keeps getting stuck helping people. Admittedly, he could say no, except that these people really need help and he's trying hard to be a good guy. I think the most fun aspect of this book is not watching Montana using his incredible strength, or thinking up some bizarre strategy to help him survive. It's watching every decent decision he makes be turned into another terrible blunder. Frankly, an awful lot of those decisions seem highly reasonable to the reader and it always feels a bit unfair when everyone gangs up on Montana to tell him what an idiot he is. But there you have it. No decision will ever be right enough, yet Montana marches on.
